Completed Mar 2011:
Finished the project to give the genealogy pages a new look: completed the extra-large Beahm branch (and it only took me 5 months ....). Separated out all the earliest ancestors and gave them their own pages, and filled in at least the names of the children on pages that are still in progress. Should be able to get back to normal slow production now, after a two-year period of not much progress.

Completed Sep 2010:
Continuing the project to give the genealogy pages a new look: completed the large -- no, extra-large -- Spencer branch, which completes all of Rita’s side. Also corrected a lot of minor errors and broken links. The extra-large Beahm branch on Bill’s side is the only one left to do before I can get back to some real work.
I also separated out a lot of Spencer earliest-ancestors, who had been lumped in with others, and gave them their own pages. Hopefully this will eliminate some sources of confusion on some of the family pages.

Completed Aug 2010:

This is the first page which I have fully sourced. Truly a pain; but I can see, in looking at other websites, that the unattributed data really inspires less confidence, so I will try to get all of my pages sourced.... eventually....

7 Aug 2010. Continuing my tweaking to get the website compliant with HTML 4.01 and more consistent styles. The Hale, Hawley and Sorensen families are done.
As with the “end pages”, I was not really happy with the earliest-ancestor pages, so I am giving these people their own pages -- no new information, and what is on the pages is pretty sparse, but I think it will be less confusing. Pages completed so far:

I also corrected several things that I did not really like:

The genealogy pages were not easily accessible. Since they are my pages and I know them all, it’s easy for me, but maybe not so easy for someone coming into the site just to look around. I remade the Main Index page so it cuts out a couple steps and makes it easier to go straight to a family page.
I was not happy with the “end pages”, i.e. grandparent/great-grandparent; it seemed like it just left things dangling. So, I added four new pages for our grandparents:
Hawley/Beahm (Bill’s side)
Sorensen/Hale (Rita’s side)
Sorenson/Spencer (Rita’s side)
Stupak/Yakuts (Bill’s side)
I am trying out a new look for the basic family pages, which you will see when you look at the above. I have completed the smaller lines (Hale, Hawley, Sorensen, Sorenson, Stupak and Yakuts), will get to the big ones (Beahm, Spencer) when I get to them.
I consolidated all the little indexes into one alpha index -- still just has direct ancestors.

I have made good progress in going back through all the pages to add sources. I have completed most of the "hard documents" and attributions to Rosine Spencer and others. Still need to go back through and add all the internet sources.
I also have been going through all the pages to make sure they are HTML 4.01 compliant, although that is invisible to you and you probably wouldn't care.

May 2010 - I can't believe it’s been a year. What a lazy bum I am... I have all the place names redone, adding counties and making numerous corrections to errors that I discovered in doing this. Please let me know if you find any place names that don't have the counties. And also please let me know if you know of any places in this website where the town or county names have changed over time. I am also 95% done transferring everything over to my new database, so should resume normal work on pages sometime soon. I have been receiving a number of email requests for sources for the materials presented here. While I have listed sources for most pages on lines that I actually worked on myself, I have not generally listed any sources for those many pages that I have gleaned from the internet. I will be going back someday and documenting everything. Keep in mind though, that websites are rather ephemeral -- those that I used before may no longer be there, and those I list now may be gone in five years.

2 Jun 2009 Progress: I have all the dates redone, am about 80% done revamping place names, and a third done copying over old notes. Rita is starting to get back to normal, and I should be able to put more time into starting this up again.

12 May 2009: Genealogy updates are currently on hold -- We've been dealing with medical problems for much of the past year. I have also switched software programs for my genealogy database, and am still in the process of copying over several thousand notes that did not transfer correctly; expect that to take a couple months more. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Oct 2008: I'm not updating any web pages for some time, probably a few months, due to medical problems in the family.
