Wheeler/Spofford family ties

This family is not directly related to us.  I include this partial descent list due to the frequent intermarriage with our family.  I have left out most of the children, including only those who married into our lines.

David Wheeler was born about 1625 in England.  He married about 1650,
Sarah Wise.

Four of their lines merge into ours:

a. Sarah Wheeler was born in 1652 and died 24 Oct 1732. She married in 1675, John Spofford. John was born 24 Oct 1648, and died 22 Apr 1697.

Two of their lines merge into ours:

a1. John Spofford was born 25 Jun 1678 in Bradford (Essex) Massachusetts, and died 11 Oct 1735 in Rowley (Essex) Massachusetts. He married on 5 Feb 1699/00, Dorcas Hopkinson [2838.3.2], daughter of John Hopkinson and Elizabeth Pearson. Dorcas was born 8 Feb 1676/77 in Rowley, and died on 2 May 1717 in Rowley.

a2. Jonathan Spofford was born 28 May 1684 in Rowley (Essex) Massachusetts, and died 16 Jan 1772 in Rowley. He married in 1708, Jemima Freethy.

Two of their lines merge into ours:

a21. David Spofford was born 4 Dec 1710 in Rowley (Essex) Massachusetts. He married 6 Mar 1734/35, Hannah Cheney [2844.10.2], daughter of Eldad Cheney and Mary Walker. Hannah was born in 1712 and died in 1755.

a22. Job Spofford was born 21 Dec 1726 in Georgetown (Essex) Massachusetts. He married 13 May 1746, Mary Brocklebank [710.3], daughter of Francis Brocklebank and Mary Cheney. Mary was born in 1728.

b. Abigail Wheeler was born 2 Feb 1655 in Newbury (Essex) Massachusetts, and died 13 Apr 1742. She married 20 May 1679 in Newbury, Samuel Hills. Samuel was born 6 Jul 1652 in Malden (Middlesex) Massachusetts, and died 18 Aug 1732 in Newbury (Essex) Massachusetts.

Abigail and Samuel had fourteen children (Samuel, Joseph, Nathaniel, Benjamin, Abigail, Henry, William, Josiah, John, Abigail, Hannah, James, Daniel, Smith),

of whom we list one:

b6. Henry Hills was born 23 Apr 1688 in Newbury (Essex) Massachusetts, and died 20 Aug 1757 in Hudson (Hillsborough) New Hampshire. He married Dorcas Thurston [2838.4.1.2], daughter of James Thurston and Mary Pearson.

c. Jonathan Wheeler was born 6 Jan 1657/58 in Newbury (Essex) Massachusetts. He married Mary Sinclair.

Four of their lines merge into our family:

c1. Sarah Wheeler was born probably around 1680. She married Jonathan Bradstreet, son of Moses Bradstreet and Sarah Platts. Jonathan is a half-brother to the children of 2836.1 Elizabeth Harris.

Sarah and Jonathan had several children, of whom we are interested in two:

c12. Samuel Bradstreet was born 9 Aug 1711 in Rowley (Essex) Massachusetts. He married 9 Nov 1736 in Rowley, Dorcas Spofford [2838.3.2.5], daughter of John Spofford and Dorcas Hopkinson.

c13. Mary Bradstreet was born 5 May 1714 in Rowley (Essex) Massachusetts, and died about 1809 in Baltimore (Windsor) Vermont. She married 10 Jan 1738 in Rowley, David Chaplin [2816.2.2.7], son of Jeremiah Chaplin and Ann Kilbourne.

c2. Jonathan Wheeler was born 15 Apr 1686 in Rowley (Essex) Massachusetts, and died in Salem (Rockingham) New Hampshire. He married 15 Nov 1710 in Rowley, Ann Plummer [5694.4.6], daughter of Benjamin Plummer and Ann Wood.

c3. Mary Wheeler was born 9 Feb 1695 in Rowley (Essex) Massachusetts. She married 12 Feb 1712/13 in Rowley, John Hopkinson [2838.3.6], son of John Hopkinson and Elizabeth Pearson.

c4. Mehitabel Wheeler was born 26 Mar 1698 in Rowley (Essex) Massachusetts, and died 4 Aug 1766 in Rowley. She married 15 Oct 1720 in Rowley, her cousin Benjamin Wheeler [5690.1.4.2], son of Jethro Wheeler [c] and Hannah French. Mehitabel and Benjamin are first cousins, as he is a son of [d] Jethro, below.

d. Jethro Wheeler was born 28 Mar 1664 in Newbury (Essex) Massachusetts, and died in 1725 in Rowley (Essex) Massachusetts. He married 2 Jul 1690 in Newbury, Hannah French [5690.1.4], daughter of John French and Mary Noyes.
