Rita’s Family: Ancestors of Helen Spencer |
||
| These pages are a compilation of my work and that of others. You are welcome to use anything on this page, but be aware that although I have been as careful and accurate as possible, I am not a professional genealogist. I have been working on our genealogy for over 25 years, and started the website in 2005. Some of the lines I have researched myself; some, especially on Rita’s side, we inherited the research of other family members over the past 75 years. Still, the majority of these pages are limited to compilations from published books and what I could find on the internet. The target audience was and remains our family, so the family pages are limited to our own ancestors. I have set it up so that each page is one set of ancestors, with their descendants. For the most part I have limited my scope to their great-grandchildren (second cousins to us); in some cases I list sources which may continue further. | HOME | |

2980. Isaac Platt {a,b,wa,wb} was born about Apr 1633 in England (baptized 10 Apr in Hertfordshire), and died 31 Jul 1691 in Huntington (Suffolk) New York. He is a son of Richard Platt [5960] and Mary Wood [5961]. He married
2981. Elizabeth Wood {b,wa,wb}. Elizabeth was born about 1645 (some have 1641) in England, and died sometime after 1691 in New York. She is a daughter of Jonas Wood [5962] and Elizabeth Strickland [5963].
Isaac was brought to America by his parents at age 5 in 1638, and grew up in Milford. Isaac is mentioned by Savage {a}, who calls him Isaac of Huntington, Long Island, and says he was admitted a Freeman of Connecticut in 1664. Savage also lists an Isaac as a son of Richard -- but he fails to connect the two Isaacs as being the same person. Isaac moved to Huntington, Long Island in 1664 along with his brother Epenetus. Now part of New York, at that time Long Island was part of Connecticut Colony. On 12 May 1664 in Hartford, Isaac and his brother were made “free planters” of Long Island {b}. Isaac and his brother were among the 57 landowners in Huntington in 1666, and they appear on another patent in 1688. Isaac appears on Huntington land deeds in 1683, 1687. Platt {b} also says Isaac is listed in a 1755 census as a slaveholder, but that would make Isaac well over 100; it is probably a misprint in the year, or another Isaac.
According to Platt {b} and others, Isaac married first in Milford, Phebe Smith. However, he places the marriage in 1640, far too early for Isaac. It is most likely a typographical error, and this Isaac has been confused for another Isaac who married in 1740 {wb}.
Isaac was a captain in the militia, and held many town offices in Huntington {b}. In 1681 there was some conflict between Huntington and New York; Isaac was among the Huntington delegation sent to discuss it, and he ended up being imprisoned for a short time by Governor Andros, along with his brother Epenetus and three other townsmen.
Isaac and Elizabeth had six children:
2980.1. Elizabeth Platt (1665 NY) had descendants and is expanded below.
2980.2. Jonas Platt (1667 NY) had descendants and is expanded below.
2980.3. John Platt [1490] (1669 NY - 1731 NY) and Phebe Vail are direct ancestors, separate page.
2980.4. Mary Platt {b} was born 26 Oct 1674 in Huntington (Suffolk) New York, and died 30 Nov 1771.
2980.5. Joseph Platt {b} was born 8 Sep 1677 in Huntington (Suffolk) New York.
2980.6. Jacob Platt (1682 NY - 1713 NY) had descendants and is expanded below.
2980.1. Elizabeth Platt {b,wa,wb,wd,wk,wl,wm} was born 15 Sep 1665 in Huntington (Suffolk) New York, and died sometime before 2 Feb 1730 (some have 1740) in Huntington. Elizabeth married 14 Jan 1684/85 in Huntington, Samuel Griffin, son of Hugh Griffin and Dorothy Skidmore. Some have 7 Jan for the marriage, that might be the publishing of the intent.
Samuel was born 22 Feb 1656/57 in Stratford (Fairfield) Connecticut, and died Jan 1690/91 in Derby (New Haven) Connecticut. Elizabeth married second, John Brush, son of Thomas Brush and Rebecca Conklin. He had three children from a previous marriage to Sarah Adams; and after Elizabeth died he married Jane Ketcham. Some also have Elizabeth married to John Wood, probably incorrect -- see Frye {wb} for a detailed discussion. Also see Hamlett {wm} for more comments on Elizabeth and her marriages.
Elizabeth and Samuel had two children (first cousins to us):
2980.1.1. Phebe Griffin {wa} was born probably late 1680s in Huntington (Suffolk) New York, and died 12 Nov 1754 in Huntington.
She is described as still an infant at the time of her father’s death in 1691 {wb}.
She married about 1703 in Huntington, Obadiah Rogers, son of Jonathan Rogers and Rebecca Wickes. Obadiah was born about 1678 in Huntington (Suffolk) New York, and died 7 Feb 1759 in Huntington.
Phebe and Obadiah had four to six children -- most sources omit one or two, resulting in some date conflicts (second cousins to us):
2980.1.1.1. Hezekiah Rogers {wa,wd,we} was born 21 Feb 1702/03 in Huntington (Suffolk) New York, and died 25 Sep 1778 in Huntington. He married 29 Mar 1725 in Huntington, Ruth Scudder, daughter of Benjamin Scudder and Sarah ___. Ruth was born 13 Jan 1703 in Huntington (Suffolk) New York, and died 2 Mar 1785 in Huntington. Hezekiah and Ruth had nine children (Isaac 1726-1807, m Mary Rogers; Obadiah 1728-1770, m Mary __; Phebe 1729-1816, m Philip Rogers; Micah 1732-1815, m Helen Brill; Ruth 1735-1811, m Silas Sammis; Hezekiah 1738-1812, m Hannah Vincent; Ezekiel 1741-1785, m Eva Wiltsie; Zophar 1743-1800, m Jemima Vincent; and Alexander 1746), of whom we list one (third cousin to us):
2980.1.1.1.9. Alexander Rogers {wq} was born about 1746 in Huntington (Suffolk) New York, and died 20 Jul 1782 in Huntington. He married 16 Apr 1769 in Huntington, Hannah Blatchley [BEAHM 7808.1.9.6.2], daughter of Daniel Blatchley and Prudence Weiser. Hannah was born about 1745 in Dix Hills (Suffolk) New York, and died 30 Jul 1784 in Huntington (Suffolk) New York. Hannah is a third cousin to Bill’s side of the family.
2980.1.1.2.(?) Ezekiel Rogers {wd} was born about 1705 in Huntington (Suffolk) New York. He married 23 Nov 1731 in Branford (New Haven) Connecticut, Sarah Barnes, daughter of Stephen Barnes and Mary Barnes. Sarah was born 17 May 1708 in Branford (New Haven) Connecticut. Ezekiel is omitted by many sources, and might not belong here; it is a bit difficult to squeeze him into the birth order.
2980.1.1.3.(?) Josiah Rogers {wa} was born about 1706 in Huntington (Suffolk) New York. Josiah is omitted by many sources, and might not belong here; like Ezekiel, it is difficult to squeeze him into the birth order. Josiah married 23 Mar 1724/25 in Huntington, Elisheba Conklin, daughter of Timothy Conklin. Elisheba was born 14 Aug 1702.
2980.1.1.4. Phebe Rogers {wa,wd,we} was born about 1705 to 1707 in Huntington (Suffolk) New York, and died about 1787 in Huntington. She married 15 Dec 1725 in Huntington, her cousin Phillip Platt [1490.4], son of John Platt and Phebe Vail. Phillip was born about 1705 in Huntington (Suffolk) New York, and died 12 May 1748 in Huntington. Phebe and Phillip are first cousins once removed, both being descended from 2980 Isaac Platt and Elizabeth Wood.
Phebe and Phillip had seven children, listed under Phillip who is closer to the main line.
2980.1.1.5. Sarah Rogers {wa,we} was born about 1707 to 1709 probably in Huntington (Suffolk) New York. She married 23 Jan 1726/27 in Huntington, Silas Weeks (also seen as Silas Wicks). Silas was born 5 Aug 1705 in Huntington (Suffolk) New York, and died 26 Nov 1767 in Huntington. Sarah and Silas had five children (Silas; Alexander 1727; Zachariah 1730; Benajah 1732, m Hannah Conklin; and Anna 1744, m Richard Lattin).
2980.1.1.6. Ananias Rogers {wa,wd,we} was born about 1710 to 1711 probably in Huntington (Suffolk) New York, and died there 16 Feb 1775. He married 7 Nov 1732 in Huntington, Prudence Carll. Prudence was born about 1712 in Huntington (Suffolk) New York. Ananias and Prudence had three children (Augustus 1733; Mary 1736-1826, m Silas Carll; and Platt 1739-1798, m Ida Wiltsie).
2980.1.2. Elizabeth Griffin {wa,wd} was born about 1687 in Huntington (Suffolk) New York. Elizabeth married in 1707 in Huntington, Jonathan Wickes [5968.2.4], son of John Wickes and Hester Ketcham. Jonathan was born 1 Jul 1686 in Huntington (Suffolk) New York.
Elizabeth and John Brush had three children (first cousins to us):
2980.1.3. Isaac Brush {wc,wm} was born about 1693 in Huntington (Suffolk) New York, and died in 1758 in Huntington. He married first, his cousin Sarah Platt [5960.3.9], daughter of Epenetus Platt (1640-1693) and Phebe Wood (1649-1697). Sarah was born 4 Feb 1691/92 in Huntington (Suffolk) New York, and died about 1729 in Huntington. Sarah and Isaac are first cousins once removed; they are actually double cousins, through both Platt and Wood; Sarah could also have been numbered 5962.3.9. Isaac married second, 4 May 1729, Hannah Minthorne.
Isaac and first wife Sarah had five children (second cousins to us):
2980.1.3.1. Phebe Brush {we,wf,wm} was born about 1720 in Huntington (Suffolk) New York, and died in 1747 in Norwalk (Fairfield) Connecticut. She married 11 Sep 1735 in Huntington, her cousin Isaac Marvin, son of Samuel Marvin and Hannah Platt [Hannah a descendant of 1490 Richard]. Isaac was born in 1702 in Norwalk (New London) Connecticut, and died 28 Sep 1783 in Connecticut. Phebe and Marvin had six children (Sarah 1736-1836; Mary 1737-1838; Hannah 1739-1840; Brush 1740-1785, m Abigail Squire; Isaac 1744-1777; and Stephen 1747-1810, m Rachel Marsh).
2980.1.3.2. Isaac Brush {wm} was born about 1722 in Huntington (Suffolk) New York, and died sometime before 1761 in Huntington. He married 2 May 1745 in Huntington, Sarah Wood. Sarah was born about 1725 (baptized 4 Apr 1725 in Huntington) and died 15 Dec 1813 in Huntington (Suffolk) New York. They are probably cousins of some sort, but I have not found her family yet. Isaac and Sarah had five children (Platt 1747; Charity 1748; Sarah 1751; Treadwell 1754; and Naomi), of whom we list one (third cousin to us):
2980.1.3.2.1. Platt Brush {wm,wr,ws} was born about 1747 (baptized 2 Aug 1747) in Huntington (Suffolk) New York, and died 13 Dec 1814 in Amityville (Suffolk) New York. He married 17 Feb 1770 in Huntington, Margaret Ketcham [2984.10.1.5], daughter of Joshua Ketcham and Jerusha Whitman.
2980.1.3.3. Naomi Brush {wm} was born about 1725 (baptized 22 Aug 1725).
2980.1.3.4. Tredwell Brush {wm} was born about 1726 in Huntington (Suffolk) New York, and died about 1756. He married 14 May 1746 in Huntington, his third cousin Hannah Platt [5960.3.3.1.1], daughter of Epenetus Platt and Sarah Scudder. Hannah was born 10 Aug 1724 in Huntington (Suffolk) New York. Tredwell owned at least one slave, Jack Coper. Tredwell and Hannah had three children (Sarah 1747, m Joel Scudder; Samuel 1749; and Hannah 1753-1834, m Jesse Whitman).
2980.1.3.5. Epenetus Brush {wm} was born 7 Apr 1729.
2980.1.4. Samuel Brush {wm} was born about 1696 in Huntington (Suffolk) New York, and died in 1764 in Huntington. He married first, Phebe Carll. All of the children are from this first marriage. Samuel appears in several land sale documents, and on the list of a local militia company in 1715. Samuel married a second time, wife unknown; and married third, 30 Dec 1761 in Huntington, Martha Oldfield Titus. Martha was born in 1714.
Samuel and first wife Phebe had eleven children (second cousins to us):
2980.1.4.1. Ananias Brush {wm,wo,wp} was born 13 Jul 1721 in Huntington (Suffolk) New York, and died 3 Mar 1794 in Huntington. He married first, 24 Mar 1742/43, Mary Kelsey [BEAHM 15760.8.6.4], daughter of Daniel Kelsey and Susanna ___. Mary was born about 1720 and died sometime before 1773. Some have her as Mary Kelsey [BEAHM 7864.5.1.x], daughter of Daniel Kelsey and Abigail Hurd, but I think that is unlikely: her birthdate is around 1720, while the Kelsey/Hurd children are born 1728 and later; the Kelsey/Hurd family usually lists 10 children, with nobody named Mary; and 15760.8.6 Daniel names Mary Brush in his will. Ananias and Mary had seven children (Ananias 1744, m Eleanor Hartt; Nathaniel 1745; Stephen 1750; Susannah 1754-1845; Phebe 1757, m Ebenezer Conklin; Sarah 1762; Zopher 1747, m Margaret Whitman), of whom we list one below. Ananias probably married second, 3 Sep 1772 Jemima Rodgers Simonson. Ananias also married second or third, 11 Dec 1774, either Ruth Whitman or Judith Whitman. They had one daughter (Rebecca). There is some confusion as the marriage record shows Ruth Whitman, but his will mentions Judith.
2980.1.4.1.4. Susannah Brush {wi,wm,wo} was born about 1754 (baptized 17 Feb 1754) and died 18 May 1845. She married 20 Feb 1772, Philip Ketcham [2984.8.4.1], son of Solomon Ketcham and Hannah Conklin. They had nine children, listed under Philip.
2980.1.4.2. Bathsheba Brush {wm} was born 5 Dec 1722 probably in Huntington (Suffolk) New York, and died 4 Jan 1803 in Bovina Center (Delaware) New York.
2980.1.4.3. John Brush {wm} was born 28 Feb 1726/27 in Huntington (Suffolk) New York, and died sometime after 1761 in Huntington.
2980.1.4.4. Phoebe Brush {wm} was born 20 Nov 1728 probably in Huntington (Suffolk) New York.
2980.1.4.5. Mary Brush {wc,wm} was born 30 Oct 1730 in Huntington (Suffolk) New York, and died in May 1759. She married 24 Jan 1750/51 in Huntington, her cousin Jesse Platt [2980.2.3.1], son of Jesse Platt. Jesse and Mary had two children (Hannah and Mary), listed under Jesse.
2980.1.4.6. Elizabeth Brush {wm} was born 19 Jul 1732 probably in Huntington (Suffolk) New York.
2980.1.4.7. Hannah Brush {wm} was born 17 Mar 1733/34 probably in Huntington (Suffolk) New York.
2980.1.4.8. Jesse Brush {wm,wn} was born about 1737 probably in Huntington (Suffolk) New York. He married 13 Oct 1757 in New York, Ruth Conklin, daughter of John Conklin and Mary ___. Jesse supposedly served in the Revolutionary War, a major in the First Suffolk County Regiment. But, assuming that refers to the County Militia, the rosters show no majors at all -- only a Colonel and some Captains and Lieutenants, Jesse not among them. I could not find Jesse Brush, officer or enlisted, in any of the Suffolk Count militia rosters. He may have been in another group.
2980.1.4.9. Rebecca Brush {wm} was born 15 Apr 1739 probably in Huntington (Suffolk) New York.
2980.1.4.10. Susanna Brush {wm} was born 13 Oct 1742 probably in Huntington (Suffolk) New York.
2980.1.4.11. Nehemiah Brush {wm} was born 6 Sep 1743 probably in Huntington (Suffolk) New York.
2980.1.5. Naomi Brush {wk,wl,wm,ka} was born 19 Mar 1700/01 in Cold Spring Harbor (Suffolk) New York, and died 3 May 1756 in Connecticut. She is sometimes seen as Naomi Brush (Griffin), and some sites assign her as a daughter of Samuel Griffin adopted by John Brush. If this were true, then either his death date or her birth date must be off by about 10 years. I do not understand why there should be such confusion about this daughter, but it causes me to wonder if perhaps she was born out of wedlock to some other Griffin; or perhaps they simply gave her a middle name Griffin?
Naomi married about 1720, Samuel Jarvis, son of William Jarvis (1672-1740) and Esther Wickes (1676-1740). Samuel was born 5 Oct 1698 in Connecticut, and died 27 Sep 1779. He was a Captain in the British Army {ka}.
Naomi and Samuel had perhaps eleven children, although {ka} says Samuel was their only son (second cousins to us):
2980.1.5.1. Samuel Jarvis {wk,wl,ka,kb} was born 27 Dec 1720 in Stamford (Fairfield) Connecticut, and died 1 Sep 1780 in St. John (New Brunswick) Canada. He married 18 Dec 1741 in Norwalk (Fairfield) Connecticut, Martha Seymour, daughter of John Seymour and Hannah Higginbotham. Martha was born in 1726 in Connecticut and died 1 Dec 1803 in New Brunswick, Canada. Samuel served as town clerk of Stamford for many years. He was a Loyalist during the Revolutionary War. According to {kb}, he joined the British Army, and was made a Brigadier General in command of a loyalist regiment. After the war he moved to Saint John, New Brunswick, where he became a surveyor. Samuel and Martha had eleven children (Munson 1742-1825; Samuel 1745-1838; Mary called Polly 1747-1826, m Fyler Dibblee; Martha 1748-1784; Sarah 1750-1807; John 1752-1845; Seymour 1754-1761; William 1756-1817; Hannah 1758-1829; Lavina 1761-1841; and another Seymour 1765-1843), of whom we list one (third cousin to us):
2980.1.5.1.8. William Jarvis {wk,wl,kb,kc} was born 11 Sep 1756 in Stamford (Fairfield) Connecticut, and died 13 Aug 1817 in York, Upper Canada (present-day Toronto, Ontario). He married in Connecticut Hannah Owen Peters, daughter of Samuel Peters. They were Anglican. He was a Loyalist and in the Revolutionary War he served as an officer in the Queen's Rangers, a loyalist regiment. After the Revolution they moved to Upper Canada (south Ontario). William was involved in politics, and was a member of the conservative Family Compact. From 1791 to 1817 he was Provincial Secretary of Upper Canada. From 1800 to 1811 he was chairman of the Home District Council, which was the municipal government for York (present-day Toronto).
2980.1.5.2. Elizabeth Jarvis {wl} was born in 1722 and died in 1730, age 8.
2980.1.5.3. John Jarvis {wl} was born in 1725 and died in 1778. Source claims Huntington New York for his birthplace, unlikely given that most known siblings are Connecticut. He married in 1751 Catherine Raymond. Catherine was born in 1727 and died in 1811 in Poundridge (Westchester) New York.
2980.1.5.4. Esther Jarvis {wl} was born in 1727.
2980.1.5.5. Stephen Jarvis {wl} was born in 1729 in Danbury (Fairfield) Connecticut, and died in 1820 in Danbury. He married in 1756 in Fairfield (Fairfield) Connecticut, Rachel Starr.
2980.1.5.6. Isaac Jarvis {wl} was born about 1733.
2980.1.5.7. Naomi Jarvis {wl} was born about 1736.
2980.1.5.8. Nathan Jarvis {wl} was born about 1737 and died in 1820. He married in 1757, Ann Kellogg.
2980.1.5.9. Abraham Jarvis {wl} was born in 1739 in Norwalk (Fairfield) Connecticut, and died in 1813 in New Haven (New Haven) Connecticut. He married first in 1766, Ann Farmar. Abraham married second in 1806, Lucy Lewis.
2980.1.5.10. Polly Jarvis {wl} was born in 1742 and died in 1746, age 4.
2980.1.5.11. Hezekiah Jarvis {wl} was born in 1746 in Norwalk (Fairfield) Connecticut, and died in 1838. He married in 1767 Mary Nash. Hezekiah also married Sarah Nash, we do not know the date or the order of the marriages.
2980.2. Jonas Platt {b,wa,wb} was born 10 Aug 1667 in Huntington (Suffolk) New York, and died sometime after 5 May 1723. He married Sarah Scudder, daughter of Jonathan Scudder and Sarah Brown. Sarah was born 1 Sep 1671. Some speculate that Jonas may have had two wives due to the long time span in the births of the children and the fact that Zebulon speaks of his three brothers in his will, but the death date for Sarah is unknown, and no other marriage is known.
Jonas and Sarah had nine children (first cousins to us):
2980.2.1. Sarah Platt {wb,wc,we} was born about 1694 in Huntington (Suffolk) New York, and died 6 Mar 1740/41. She is often confused with her cousin Sarah Platt [5960.3.9], daughter of Epenetus Platt and Phebe Wood, due to similar birth dates. Sarah married ___ Titus. Some have her married to 2980.1.3 Isaac, son of Elizabeth Platt and John Brush, but that is more likely her cousin Sarah.
2980.2.2. Elizabeth Platt {wb,wi} was born about 1695, and died 26 Dec 1773. She married first, Nathaniel Williams. Elizabeth married second, 18 Jan 1739, Philip Ketcham [2984.8], son of John Ketcham and Elizabeth Weeks. Philip was born 7 Mar 1690/91 in Huntington (Suffolk) New York, and died 5 Jan 1770 in Huntington.
Elizabeth and first husband Nathaniel had one child (second cousin to us):
2980.2.2.1. Mary Williams {wi} was born in 1724, and died 30 Apr 1734 in Huntington (Suffolk) New York, age 10.
2980.2.3. Jesse Platt {b,wc,we} was born about 1696 in Huntington (Suffolk) New York. He was married, but his wife is unknown.
Jesse and his wife had six children (second cousins to us):
2980.2.3.1. Abigail Platt {wc} was born about 1719 in Huntington (Suffolk) New York. She married 28 Jan 1738/1739 in Huntington, Nehemiah Palmer.
2980.2.3.2. Jesse Platt {wc} was born about 1722 in Huntington (Suffolk) New York, and died about 1723.
2980.2.3.3. Isaac Platt {b,wc} was born about 1723 in Huntington (Suffolk) New York, and died in 1772 in Huntington. He married 27 Feb 1744/45 in Huntington, Esther Ketcham. I have not been able to find her parents, so we do not know if whe is related to our Ketcham lines. Isaac and Esther had six or seven children (Obadiah 1746; perhaps an Isaac 1754 d. ch; Mary 1756, m Timothy Conkling; twin Sarah 1756, m Ezra Conkling; Elizabeth 1760, m Benjamin Gould; Jesse 1761-1827, m Deborah Titus; Isaac 1763-1849), of whom we list one (third cousin to us):
2980.2.3.3.1. Obadiah Platt {wc} was born about 1746 (baptized 23 Mar 1745/1746) in Huntington (Suffolk) New York, and died 29 Dec 1829 in Huntington. He married 15 Feb 1770, his cousin Mary Platt [5960.3.3.1.7], daughter of Epenetus Platt and Phebe ___. Mary was born 25 Oct 1741 in Huntington (Suffolk) New York. They are third cousins once removed, both descending from 5960 Richard Platt and Mary Wood.
2980.2.3.4. Jesse Platt {b,wc,we} was born about Oct 1728 (baptized 20 Oct 1728) in Huntington (Suffolk) New York, and died about 1769. Some have his death in Hempstead (Queens) New York, others have Huntington. He married 24 Jan 1750/51 in Huntington, his cousin Mary Brush, daughter of Samuel Brush and Phebe Carll. Mary died within a few days of the birth of their second daughter, and Jesse remarried 17 Mar 1762 in Hempstead (Queens) New York, Dorothy ___. Jesse and Mary had two children (Hannah 1754-1820, m David Rusco; and Mary 1759), of whom we list one (third cousin to us):
2980.2.3.4.2. Mary Platt {wc} was born 14 May 1759 in Huntington (Suffolk) New York. She married about 1777, her fourth cousin Platt Kelsey [BEAHM 15670.8.6.6], son of Anne Platt and Stephen Kelsey. Platt is a cousin to both Rita’s and Bill’s sides of the family.
2980.2.3.5. Zophar Platt {wc} was born 10 Jan 1730/31 in Huntington (Suffolk) New York, and died sometime before 1734.
2980.2.3.6. Zophar Platt {b,wc} was born in 1734 (baptized 20 Oct 1734) in Huntington (Suffolk) New York, and died either 7 Mar 1811 (gravestone) or 27 Mar 1811 (Platt genealogy referenced in {wc}). He married 11 Apr 1757 in Huntington, his third cousin Sarah Platt [5960.3.3.1.5], daughter of Epenetus Platt and Sarah Scudder. Sarah was born 8 Dec 1734 in Huntington (Suffolk) New York, and died 10 May 1811 in Huntington. Zophar and Sarah had five children (Scudder 1758-1828, m1 Esther Rogers, m2 Martha Weeks; Phebe 1760; Israel 1764; Zophar 1767; and Anna 1769), of whom we list one (third cousin to us):
2980.2.3.6.2. Phebe Platt {wc} was born Jul 1760 in Huntington (Suffolk) New York, and died 19 May 1835 in Huntington. She married 5 Jan 1784 in Huntington, her third cousin Gilbert Platt [1490.4.2.4], son of Obadiah Platt (1728-1770) and Mary Carll (1732-1795).
