| These pages are a compilation of my work and that of others. You are welcome to use anything on this page, but be aware that although I have been as careful and accurate as possible, I am not a professional genealogist. I have been working on our genealogy for over 25 years, and started the website in 2005. Some of the lines I have researched myself; some, especially on Rita’s side, we inherited the research of other family members over the past 75 years. Still, the majority of these pages are limited to compilations from published books and what I could find on the internet. The target audience was and remains our family, so the family pages are limited to our own ancestors. I have set it up so that each page is one set of ancestors, with their descendants. For the most part I have limited my scope to their great-grandchildren (second cousins to us); in some cases I list sources which may continue further. | HOME | |

86. Jacob McBride was born in 1798 in White Co, Tennessee, and died about 1849 in Boone Co, Missouri. He is a son of Thomas McBride [172] and Elizabeth Womack [173]. Jacob married about 1818,
87. Peggy ___. Peggy was born about 1802 in White Co, Tennessee.
Jacob’s mother died when he was 8 years old, and at age 19 he moved with his father and younger siblings to Missouri -- first Howard County, then Boone and finally Franklin County. Jacob’s sister Charlotte McBride [85] is also a direct ancestor. Jacob and Peggy were probably married in Missouri -- there is a possibility that they married in White County, Tennessee, but she would have been under 16. They were members of the Disciples of Christ church.
Jacob and Peggy had eight children:
86.1. Lucinda McBride [43] (1819 MO - 1905 MO) and Thomas Caldwell are direct ancestors, separate page.
86.2. Andrew Jackson McBride was born about 1826 in Boone Co, Missouri.
86.3. Joel H. McBride was born about 1828 in Missouri.
86.4. David M. McBride was born about 1830 in Missouri.
86.5. James Hugh McBride was born about 1832 in Missouri. He was
married, but the name of his wife is unknown.
James had one child that we know of, there were probably others (first cousin to us):
86.5.1. James Hollis McBride was born sometime around 1860. He married Ella Sexton.
James and Ella had two children (second cousins to us):
86.5.1.1. Eva Mae McBride was born sometime around 1890.
86.5.1.2. Walter McBride was born sometime around 1890.
86.6. John Thomas McBride was born about 1834 in Missouri.
86.7. Warren W. McBride was born about 1836 in Missouri.
86.8. Benjamin P. McBride was born about 1838 in Missouri.
