| These pages are a compilation of my work and that of others. You are welcome to use anything on this page, but be aware that although I have been as careful and accurate as possible, I am not a professional genealogist. I have been working on our genealogy for over 25 years, and started the website in 2005. Some of the lines I have researched myself; some, especially on Rita’s side, we inherited the research of other family members over the past 75 years. Still, the majority of these pages are limited to compilations from published books and what I could find on the internet. The target audience was and remains our family, so the family pages are limited to our own ancestors. I have set it up so that each page is one set of ancestors, with their descendants. 42. Thomas Caldwell {a,b} was born 15 Sep 1817 in Boone Co, Missouri, and died 16 Dec 1894 in Bowers Mill (Jasper) Missouri. (Rosine Spencer {a} has 1894 death in the last notes we were given, but I found she had 16 Dec 1874 in an earlier version -- the 1894 could be a transcription error.) He is a son of Samuel K. Caldwell [84] and Charlotte McBride [85]. Thomas married 2 Sep 1838 in Boone Co, Missouri,
43. Lucinda McBride {a,b}. Lucinda was born 31 Aug 1819 in Boone Co, Missouri, and died 18 Dec 1905 in Jasper Co, Missouri. One source gives 1821 for her birth date, and one source gives 8 Dec for the death date. She is a daughter of Jacob McBride [86] and Peggy ___ [87].
Thomas and Lucinda are first cousins, both being grandchildren of 172 Thomas McBride and Elizabeth Womack. They were Protestant, probably Presbyterian. We have a copy of their marriage record from Boone County; they were married by M. L. Roberts, Minister of the Gospel. Thomas was a farmer, and served for a time as a judge in Boone County.
Thomas and Lucinda had nine children:
42.1. James W. Caldwell {a} was born 21 Sep 1839 in Boone Co, Missouri.
42.2. Martha C. Caldwell {a} was born 29 Sep 1841 in Boone Co, Missouri.
42.3. Samuel H. Caldwell {a} was born 9 Jun 1843 in Boone Co, Missouri, and died 1913 in Jasper Co, Missouri. He was elected Sheriff of Jasper County in 1865.
42.4. John W. Caldwell {a} was born 23 Feb 1846 in Boone Co, Missouri.
42.5. David M. Caldwell {a} (twin to Mary) was born 31 Aug 1849 in Boone Co, Missouri, and died 1911, probably in
Oregon. He married about 1870, Ellen Royal.
David and Ellen had one child that we know of (first cousin to us), there may have been others:
42.5.1. Chester Caldwell {a} was born about 1870.
42.6. Mary Charlotte Caldwell (twin to David) [21] (1849 MO - 1921 MO) and James Francis Spencer are direct ancestors, separate page.
42.7. Sarah A. Caldwell {a} was born 11 Jun 1852 in Boone Co, Missouri, and died in 1893. She married about 1870, Isaac Russum. They moved to Colorado.
42.8. Narcis E. Caldwell {a} was born 21 Nov 1855 in Boone Co, Missouri.
42.9. Nancy A. Caldwell {a} was born 3 Oct 1858 in Boone Co, Missouri.
