Warren and Bartlett families
These families are not directly related to us. I include this partial descent list due to the frequent intermarriage with our family. I have left out most of the children, including only those who married into our lines.
Richard Warren was born about 1580 in England, and died in 1628 in Plymouth (Plymouth) Massachusetts. He married about 1610 in England,
Elizabeth Juitt.
Richard came to Massachusetts in 1620 on the Mayflower; Elizabeth and their daughters came in 1623 on
the "Anne".
Five of their lines merge into ours:
a. Mary Warren was born about 1610 in
England, and died in Massachusetts. She married
28 Mar 1628 in Plymouth (Plymouth) Massachusetts, Robert
Bartlett. Robert was born 27 Apr 1603 in Gloucester
(Gloucestershire) England, and died 29 Sep 1676 in Plymouth
(Plymouth) Massachusetts. Mary came to America in 1623 with her
mother.
Mary and Robert had five children, of whom three lines merge into ours:
a1. Benjamin Bartlett was born 1629 in Plymouth (Plymouth) Massachusetts,
and died Aug 1691 in Duxbury (Plymouth) Massachusetts. He married Sarah Brewster, who is descended from
Mayflower passenger William Brewster. Sarah was born 1639 in Massachusetts, and died 1691 in
Massachusetts. Benjamin was a town constable and tax collector.
Benjamin and Sarah had four children, of whom three lines merge into ours:
a11. Benjamin Bartlett was born Jun 1658 in Duxbury (Plymouth) Massachusetts, and died Aug 1740 in Duxbury. He married 1676 in Duxbury, Ruth Pabodie [7862.9], daughter of William Pabodie and Elizabeth Alden. Benjamin and Ruth are both Mayflower descendants, from William Brewster and John Alden & Priscilla Mullins respectively.
a13. Samuel Bartlett was born 1666 in Duxbury (Plymouth) Massachusetts, and died 1713 in Duxbury. He married 2 Aug 1683 in Duxbury, Hannah Pabodie [7862.11], daughter of William Pabodie and Elizabeth Alden, and sister of Ruth above.
a14. Ichabod Bartlett was born 1670 in Duxbury (Plymouth) Massachusetts. He married
Elizabeth Waterman, daughter of Joseph Waterman and Sarah Snow, and a second cousin to Benedict
Arnold. Elizabeth was born 7 Sep 1679 in Marshfield (Plymouth) Massachusetts.
Ichabod and Elizabeth had four children, two of whom marry into our lines:
a142. Nathaniel Bartlett was born 11 Oct 1703 in Marshfield (Plymouth) Massachusetts. He married Abia Delano [7862.4.4.3], daughter of Ebenezer Delano and Martha Simmons.
a143. Joseph Bartlett was born Jul 1706 in Marshfield (Plymouth) Massachusetts, and died 5 Jun 1783 in Kingston (Plymouth) Massachusetts. He married 22 Sep 1774 (a second marriage for both), Sarah Seabury [7862.7.6.1], daughter of Samuel Seabury and Deborah Wiswall. Sarah had first married Joseph's second cousin John (a511, below).
a4. George Bartlett was born about 1635 in (New Haven, Connecticut? --
possibly error), and died 2 Aug 1699 in Guilford, Connecticut. He married
Mary Cruttenden, daughter of Abraham Cruttenden and Mary Hinkson. Mary was born sometime around 1635 in England,
and died 11 Sep 1669 in Guilford, Connecticut.
George and Mary had six children, all of whom merge into our lines:
a41. Elizabeth Bartlett was born 6 Mar 1652/53 in Guilford, Connecticut, and died 4 Oct 1742 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut. She married 29 Aug 1677 in Lebanon (New London) Connecticut, Abraham Fowler [7852.1.3], son of John Fowler and Mary Hubbard.
a42. Mary Bartlett was born 1 Feb 1654/55 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 5 Nov 1724. She married 10 Jul 1673 in Guilford, Nathaniel Stone [15688.3.3], son of John Stone and Mary ___.
a43. Hannah Bartlett was born 5 Nov 1658 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 8 Feb 1753 in Guilford. She married in 1680 in Guilford, Stephen Bishop [15620.6.1], son of Stephen Bishop and Tabitha Wilkinson.
a44. Deborah Bartlett was born about 1660 probably in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 4 Dec 1692 in Newark (Essex) New Jersey. She married 16 Mar 1686/87, John Spinning [7852.7.1], son of Humphrey Spinning and Abigail Hubbard.
a45. Daniel Bartlett was born
15 Dec 1665 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 14 Nov 1747.
He married 11 Jan 1686/87, Sarah Meigs
[7816.1], daughter of John Meigs and Sarah Wilcoxson.
After Sarah died, Daniel married 11 Feb 1690/91 in Guilford, another
of our relations, Concurrence Crane [7864.3], daughter of Henry Crane and Concurrence
Meigs.
Daniel married third, 8 Oct 1707 in Guilford, Susanna ___.
Daniel and Susannah had children, one of whom married into our family again:
a451. Lucy Bartlett was born 23 Jun 1713, and died 8 Dec 1804. She married 27 Sep 1736 in Guilford, Jehiel Meigs [7816.3.3], son of Janna Meigs (1672-1739) and Hannah Willard (1674-1749). Jehiel was born 11 Jun 1703 in Connecticut, and died 25 Mar 1780.
a46. Abraham Bartlett was born 19 Jan 1667/68 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 20 Feb 1730/31. He married Mary Warner. Abraham and Mary had several children, two of whom married into our lines:
a461. Joseph Bartlett was born 24 Oct 1699 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 29 Aug 1769. He married 9 Jun 1726 in Guilford, Mindwell Crittenden [7816.7.1], daughter of Samuel Crittenden and Mindwell Meigs.
a462. Timothy Bartlett was born 15 Mar 1702 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 1 Dec 1773 in Guilford. He married 1728 in Guilford, Susannah Crittenden [7834.1.6], daughter of Thomas Crittenden and Abigail Hull.
a5. Joseph Bartlett
was born in 1639 in Plymouth (Plymouth) Massachusetts, and died
in Feb 1710/11 in Plymouth (Plymouth) Massachusetts. He
married Hannah Pope.

married Sarah Cooke. Sarah was born 1671 in Plymouth.

a511. John Bartlett was born 13 Apr 1696 in Plymouth (Plymouth) Massachusetts, and died 6 Feb 1773 in Plymouth. He married 19 Mar 1770 in Duxbury (Plymouth) Massachusetts, Sarah Seabury [7862.7.6.1], daughter of Samuel Seabury and Deborah Wiswall. After John died, Sarah married his second cousin Joseph (a143 above).
a512. Robert Bartlett was born 30 Apr 1713 in Plymouth (Plymouth) Massachusetts, and died Apr 1791 in New Gloucester (Cumberland) Maine (Massachusetts at that time). He married 15 Oct 1772 in Duxbury (Plymouth) Massachusetts, Hopestill Seabury [7862.7.6.3], daughter of Samuel Seabury and Deborah Wiswall.
a52. Joseph Bartlett was born 1665 in
Plymouth (Plymouth) Massachusetts, and died 9 Apr 1703 in
Plymouth. He married Lydia
Griswold, daughter of Francis Griswold and Mary Tracy. Lydia
was born 1671 in Norwich (New London) Connecticut, and died 1751 in Plymouth (Plymouth) Massachusetts.

a521. Joseph Bartlett was born 15 May 1693 in Plymouth (Plymouth) Massachusetts, and died 13 Jul 1756 in Plymouth. He married 18 Mar 1716/17 in Plymouth, his second cousin Elizabeth Bartlett [7862.11.7]. Elizabeth is also [a137] on this page, being a daughter of Samuel Bartlett (a13 above) and Hannah Pabodie.
a53. Benjamin Bartlett was born in 1679, and died in 1717. He
married 1702 in Plymouth (Plymouth) Massachusetts, Sarah Barnes. Sarah was born in 1680, and died in 1733.

and died in 1776. He married 1725 in Plymouth, Abigail Clark. Abigail was born in 1701.

a5314. Mary Bartlett was born 30 Apr 1730 in Plymouth (Plymouth) Massachusetts, and died 16 Jul 1785 in Plymouth. She married 26 Jul 1752 in Plymouth,
her third cousin William Bartlett [7862.11.4.2]. William is also [a1342], being a grandson of Samuel Bartlett (a13 above) and Hannah Pabodie.
a54. Sarah Bartlett was born in 1680,
and died 1714 in Plymouth (Plymouth) Massachusetts. She married
Elisha Holmes, the son of Nathaniel Holmes. Elisha was born 1670
in Plymouth (Plymouth) Massachusetts, and died in 1753.
Sarah and Elisha had several children, one of whom married into our lines:
a541. Elisha Holmes was born 19 Jun 1698 in Plymouth (Plymouth) Massachusetts, and died Jul 1779 in Plymouth. He married 7 Mar 1720/21 in Plymouth, his second cousin Sarah Barlett [7862.11.8]. Sarah is also [a138], being a daughter of Samuel Bartlett (a13 above) and Hannah Pabodie.
a55. Hannah Bartlett was born 17 Feb 1671/72 in Marshfield (Plymouth) Massachusetts, and died 4 Mar 1754 in Plymouth. She married in Apr 1690 Joseph Sylvester [7708.3.1], son of Joseph Sylvester and Mary Barstow.
b. Anna Warren was born about 1612 in England,
and died sometime after 1676 in Marshfield (Plymouth) Massachusetts. She married
19 Apr 1633 in Plymouth (Plymouth) Massachusetts, Thomas Little. Thomas was born
about 1610 in England, and died in Mar 1671/72 in Marshfield (Plymouth) Massachusetts.
Anna came to America in 1623 with her mother. They were Congregational.

b1. Hannah Little was born 1637 in Massachusetts, and died 1710 in
Massachusetts. She married 1662 in Massachusetts, Stephen Tilden.
Stephen was born 1620 in England, and died in Massachusetts.

b12. Judith Tilden was born 1 Jun 1670 in Scituate (Plymouth) Massachusetts, and died 28 Jul 1714 in Little Compton (Newport) Rhode Island. She married 27 Jun 1693 in Massachusetts, William Pabodie [7862.12], son of William Pabodie and Elizabeth Alden.
b2. Mercy Little was
born 1645 in Plymouth (Plymouth) Massachusetts, and
died Feb 1693 in Marshfield (Plymouth) Massachusetts.
She married 30 Nov 1666 in Marshfield, John Sawyer.
John was born 24 Aug 1645 in Newbury (Essex) Massachusetts,
and died Apr 1711 in Marshfield (Plymouth) Massachusetts.

b3. Ephraim Little was born 17 May 1650 in Plymouth (Plymouth) Massachusetts, and died 24 Nov 1717 in Scituate (Plymouth) Massachusetts. He married 22 Nov 1672 in Scituate, Mary Sturtevant. Mary was born 7 Dec 1651 in Plymouth (Plymouth) Massachusetts, and died 10 Feb 1717/18 in Scituate (Plymouth) Massachusetts.

b31. Anna Little was born in 1673, and died in 1706. She married 3 Jul 1694 in
Boston (Middlesex) Massachusetts, Thomas Gray. Thomas was born about 1670 in Plymouth, and died in 1721.
Anna and Thomas had three children, all of whom married into our lines:
b311. Edward Gray was born 29 Nov 1699 in Little Compton (Newport) Rhode Island, and died 10 Sep 1758 in Little Compton. He married 9 May 1716 in Little Compton, Elizabeth Pabodie [7862.12.1], daughter of William Pabodie and Judith Tilden. Edward and Elizabeth are second cousins through the Little family.
b312. Anna Gray was born in 1702, and died in 1762. She married 8 Jul 1720 in Little Compton (Newport) Rhode Island, William Richmond [7862.2.3.1], son of Sylvester Richmond and Elizabeth Rogers.
b313. Rebecca Gray was born 1 Aug 1704 in Little Compton (Newport) Rhode Island, and died sometime after Oct 1772. She married 7 Feb 1722/23 in Westerly (Washington) Rhode Island, John Peabody [7862.12.2], son of William Pabodie and Judith Tilden.
b32. David Little was born 18 Mar 1679/80 in Marshfield (Plymouth) Massachusetts, and died 9 Feb 1779 in Scituate (Plymouth) Massachusetts. He married 2 Dec 1703 in Little Compton (Newport) Rhode Island, Elizabeth Southworth [7862.10.4], daughter of William Southworth and Rebecca Pabodie.
b33. John Little was born 17 Mar 1683 in Marshfield (Plymouth) Massachusetts, and died 26 Feb 1767 in Marshfield. He married 8 Apr 1708 in Marshfield, Constant Fobes [7862.5.4], daughter of William Fobes and Martha Pabodie.
c. Elizabeth Warren was born about 1616
in England, and died 1670 in Massachusetts. She came to America
in 1623 with her mother and sisters. Elizabeth married Richard
Church. Richard was born about 1608 in England, and died 1668 in
Massachusetts. He was a carpenter.
Elizabeth and Nathaniel had several children, one of whom marries into our lines:
c1. Nathaniel Church was born about 1642 in Plymouth (Plymouth) Massachusetts, and died sometime before 1689 in Scituate (Plymouth), Massachusetts. He married Sarah Barstow [7708.5], daughter of William Barstow and Anna Hubbard.
d. Nathaniel Warren was born in 1624 in Plymouth (Plymouth) Massachusetts, and died in 1667, probably
in Massachusetts. He married Sarah Walker. Sarah was born in 1622, and died in 1700.

was born 1646 in Plymouth (Plymouth) Massachusetts, and died
23 Jan 1698 in Middleborough (Plymouth) Massachusetts.
He married Sarah Torrey. Sarah was born 9 Feb 1661 in
Scituate (Plymouth) Massachusetts, and died in 1722.

d11. John Warren was born about 1690 in Middleborough (Plymouth) Massachusetts, and died 3 Mar 1768 in Middleborough. He married 12 Jan 1712/13, Naomi Bates [7708.3.4.3], daughter of Joseph Bates and Anna Sylvester.
d2. Mercy Warren was
born Feb 1658 in Plymouth (Plymouth) Massachusetts, and died
1727 in Dartmouth (Bristol) Massachusetts. She married Jonathan
Delano, son of Phillip DeLanoye and Ester Dresbury. Jonathan was
born 1648 in Duxbury (Plymouth) Massachusetts, and died 1720 in
Dartmouth.
Mercy and Jonathan had several children, one of whom merges into our lines:
d21. Jonathan Delano was born in 1680 in Massachusetts, and died in 1752.
He married Amy Hatch. Amy was born in 1687, and died in 1762. They are ancestors of Laura Ingalls Wilder.
Jonathan and Amy had several children, one of whom marries into our lines:
d211. Susanna Delano was born 23 Jun 1724 in Tolland (Tolland) Connecticut, and died 16 Aug 1806 in Coventry (Tolland) Connecticut. She married 5 Nov 1746 in Connecticut, Noah Grant [62678.5.5.1.5.1], the son of Noah Grant and Martha Huntington. They are ancestors of Ulysses S. Grant.
e. Sarah Warren was born about 1614 in England, and died sometime after 1696 in Massachusetts. She came to America with her mother on the "Anne" in 1623. Sarah married 7 Apr 1634 in Plymouth (Plymouth) Massachusetts, John Cooke, son of Francis Cooke (1577 Eng - d. MA) and Hester Mahieu (~1580 Belg - ~1670 MA). John came to America in 1620 with his father on the Mayflower; his mother came in 1623 on the "Anne".
Sarah and John had several children, among whom we list one:
e1. Sarah Cooke was born about 1635 in Massachusetts. She married Arthur Hathaway. Arthur was born in 1631 and died in 1712.
Sarah and Arthur had several children, among whom we list one:
e11. Hannah Hathaway was born sometime around 1660 probably in Massachusetts, and died in 1749. She married George Cadman. George was born about 1650 and died about 1719.
Hannah and George had only one known child:
e111. Elizabeth Cadman was born sometime around 1690 in Massachusetts. She married William White. William is a grandson of Resolved White, and great-grandson of William White and Susanna Fuller, all Mayflower passengers. He was born 16 Jun 1690 in Rochester, Massachusetts, and died sometime after 1780.
Elizabeth and William had several children, among whom we list one:
e1111. Abner White was born about 1725 in Dartmouth (Bristol) Massachusetts. He married in 1745, Ruth Brownell, daughter of Charles Brownell and Mary Wilbur. Ruth was born about Jul 1727, and died 28 Mar 1806. Abner and Ruth were married by a Justice of the Peace. They moved to Dutchess County, New York around 1752.
Abner and Ruth had several children, among whom one marries into our family:
e11111. Thomas White was born 19 Apr 1770 in Dutchess Co, New York, and died 15 Apr 1859 in Dutchess County. He married in 1789
in New York, Rebecca Vail [SPENCER 372.4], daughter of Isaac Vail and Lavinia Ketcham.
