French family Connections

This family is not directly related to us, and in particular I have not been able to find any connection between this family and our direct lines of French. I include this partial descent list due to the frequent intermarriage with our family. I have left out most of the children, including only those who married into our lines.

Thomas French {a} was born in 1615 in England, and died in 1679 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut. Thomas married twice, and children from each marriage merge into our lines. He married first about 1639,
Mary Button, daughter of John Button and Grace ___.
Thomas and Mary had eleven children (Mary 1640-1677, m John Everts; Hannah 1642; Mercy 1644; Elizabeth 1646; Deliverance 1648; Sarah; John; Martha; Thomas 1656-1659; Ebenezer; and Rebecca 1660-1660), of whom we list four:

f. Sarah French {a} was born 25 Aug 1650 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 19 May 1717 probably in Killingworth (Middlesex) Connecticut. Sarah married twice, and a child from each marriage merges with our lines. Sarah married first, 24 Oct 1668 in Guilford,Nathaniel Parmelee, son of John Parmelee and Rebecca ___. Nathaniel was born 1645 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 16 Jan 1676 in Albany (Albany) New York.
Sarah and Nathaniel Parmelee had several children (Sarah; Nathaniel; Mary; Marcy) of whom we list one:

f1. Nathaniel Parmelee was born 22 Mar 1671/72 in Killingworth (Middlesex) Connecticut.  He married in 1696, Esther Kelsey [15670.6.5], daughter of John Kelsey and Hannah Disborough. Esther was born 14 Sep 1675 in Killingworth (Middlesex) Connecticut, and died 1 Mar 1717/18 in Killingworth.

Sarah married second, 16 Jan 1677/78 in Connecticut, Nathaniel Hayden. Nathaniel was born 1641 in Connecticut, and died 1706 in Connecticut.
Sarah and Nathaniel Hayden had several children, one of whom marries into our family:

f12. Hannah Hayden was born 9 Feb 1679/80 in Killingworth (Middlesex) Connecticut, and died 20 Oct 1736 in Killingworth. She married 23 Mar 1698/99, Joseph Kelsey [15670.6.4], son of John Kelsey and Hannah Disborough. Joseph was born 25 Dec 1673 in Killingworth (Middlesex) Connecticut, and died there 8 Mar 1740.

g. John French {a} was born 21 Jul 1652 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 28 Dec 1727 in East Guilford. He married 31 Jul 1678 in Guilford, Mary Sheather [7838.2], daughter of John Sheather and Susanna ___. Mary was born 14 Mar 1653/54 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 22 Jan 1706/07.

h. Martha French {a} was born 6 Aug 1654 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died in 1690. She married 11 Feb 1673 in Guilford, John Dudley. As far as we know, John is not related to our direct Dudley line. John was born about 1650 in England, and died in May 1690, probably in Connecticut. He had been impressed into service on a British warship from London, and escaped while they were stopped in Boston in 1673.
Martha and John had several children, five of whom merge into our lines:

h1. Mary Dudley was born 16 May 1678 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 20 Apr 1740. She married 14 Jan 1697, Ebenezer Field. Ebenezer was born 31 Oct 1671, and died 17 May 1713.
Mary and Ebenezer had several children, two of whom married into our family:

h11. David Field was born 2 Dec 1697 in East Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 6 Feb 1770 in East Guilford. He married 3 Jan 1719/20 in East Guilford, Ann Bishop [7810.2.3], daughter of John Bishop and Elizabeth Hitchcock. Ann was born 15 Feb 1694/95 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut.

h12. Mary Field was born 15 Nov 1699, and died 9 Feb 1793. She married 22 Nov 1721 in East Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, Joshua Blatchley [3904.7], son of Moses Blatchley and Susanna Bishop.

h2. Ebenezer Dudley was born 27 Feb 1681, and died 29 Aug 1751. He married 10 Aug 1704, Abigail Kelsey [15670.9.4], daughter of Daniel Kelsey and Mary Stevens. Abigail was born 3 Feb 1682 in Killingworth (Middlesex) Connecticut, and died sometime before 1727.

h3. Mercy Dudley was born in 1684 and died 29 Jun 1731. She married in 1705, Nathaniel Allis. Nathaniel was born about 1680 and died in 1751.
Mercy and Nathaniel had several children, one of whom married into our family:

h31. Nathaniel Allis was born 4 Nov 1716 in Bolton (Tolland) Connecticut, and died 4 Mar 1804 in East Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut. He married on 20 Nov 1739 in Guilford, Hannah Scranton [7820.8.9], daughter of Mary Norton and John Scranton. Hannah was born 3 Mar 1718 probably in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 10 Jan 1783 in East Guilford.

h4. Jonathan Dudley was born 1686 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut. He married Abigail Munger.
Jonathan and Abigail had several children, one of whom married into our family:

h41. Elizabeth Dudley was born 24 Dec 1727 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died in 1800 in Norfolk (Litchfield) Connecticut. She married Reuben Munger [7810.4.2.3], son of Ebenezer Munger and Ann Scranton. Reuben was born 28 Mar 1725 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 1808 in Norfolk (Litchfield) Connecticut.

h5. Naomi Dudley was born Oct 1690 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 22 Sep 1770. She married 27 Nov 1712 in Guilford, Benjamin Blatchley [7808.1.6], son of Aaron Blatchley and Mary Dodd. Benjamin was born 1673 in Connecticut, and died 7 Dec 1741.

j. Ebenezer French {a} was born 3 Apr 1658 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 3 May 1736 in Guilford. He married 8 Oct 1684 in Guilford, Susannah Blatchley [7808.1.2], daughter of Aaron Blatchley and Mary Dodd. Susannah was born in 1667 in New Haven (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 19 Jan 1727/28 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut.

Thomas married second, about 1666, Mary’s sister Deborah Button, daughter of John Button and Grace ___, and widow of Walter Joy.
Thomas and Deborah had two children (Samuel; and Abigail 1669), of whom we list one:

k. Samuel French {a} was born 21 Aug 1667 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 23 Dec 1732 in Stratford (Fairfield) Connecticut. He married about 1693 Abigail Hubbell [7826.11], daughter of Richard Hubbell and Elizabeth Gaylord.
