I have been working on our genealogy for over 25 years, and started the website in 2005. Some of the lines I have researched myself; some, especially on Rita’s side, we inherited the research of other family members over the past 75 years. Still, the majority of these pages are limited to compilations from published books and what I could find on the internet. The target audience was and remains our family, so the family pages are limited to our own ancestors. This family is not directly related to us. I include this partial descent list due to the frequent intermarriage with our family. I have left out most of the children, including only those who married into our lines.
John Bicknell was born about 1623 in England, and died Jan 1678 in Weymouth (Norfolk) Massachusetts. He married first, 18 Jun 1653,
Mary Shaw. Mary was born 18 Jun 1626 in Halifax (Yorkshire) England, and died 25 Mar 1658 in Weymouth (Norfolk) Massachusetts.
Three of their lines marry into ours:
a. Naomi Bicknell was born 21 Jun 1657 in Massachusetts, and died 11 Sep 1719 in Weymouth (Norfolk) Massachusetts. She married 1686 in Weymouth, John Vining (3840.1).
b. John Bicknell was born Apr 1653 in Weymouth (Norfolk)
Massachusetts, and died 4 Aug 1737 in Weymouth. He married Sarah ___. Sarah was
born sometime around 1655, and died 12 Feb 1729 in Weymouth (Norfolk) Massachusetts.
John and Sarah had several children, including:
b1. Zachariah Bicknell was born 28 Oct 1691 in Weymouth
(Norfolk) Massachusetts, and died Feb 1770 in Weymouth. He married
Bathsheba Whitmarsh. Bathsheba was born 9 May 1700 in Massachusetts.
Zachariah and Bathsheba had several children, including:
b11. Lemuel Bicknell was born 25 Jun 1739 in Weymouth (Norfolk) Massachusetts, and died 24 Feb 1788 in Shirley (Middlesex) Massachusetts. He married 4 Sep 1760 in Weymouth (Norfolk) Massachusetts, Ruth Vining (1920.3.3).
b2. John Bicknell was born 24 Nov 1688 in Weymouth
(Norfolk) Massachusetts, and died 2 Apr 1779 in Weymouth. He married Hannah
Humphrey. Hannah was born 6 Jul 1692 in Weymouth (Norfolk) Massachusetts, and died
21 May 1770 in Weymouth.
John and Hannah had several children, including:
b21. John Bicknell was born 30 Aug 1715 in Weymouth (Norfolk) Massachusetts, and died 23 May 1790 in Abington (Plymouth) Massachusetts. He married 13 May 1759 in Weymouth (Norfolk) Massachusetts, Experience Randall (1922.9), whose sister Hannah married Thomas Vining and is a direct ancestor.
c. Sarah Bicknell was born 1648 in Massachusetts. She married
Thomas Reade. Thomas was born about 1641 in Weymouth (Norfolk) Massachusetts. Thomas is a brother to [3840] John
Vining’s first wife Margaret Reade.
Sarah and Thomas had one son that we know of:
c1. Thomas Reed was born 12 Sep 1671 in Abington (Plymouth) Massachusetts, and died 2 Oct 1719 in Massachusetts. He married 14 Jan 1700, Hannah Randall (3844.6), the aunt of Experience and Hannah in b21 above.
John married second, 2 Dec 1658 in Weymouth (Norfolk)
Massachusetts, Mary Porter. Mary was born about 1638 in Weymouth (Norfolk) Massachusetts.
John and Mary P. had nine children, of whom one ends up in our family lines:
d. Mary Bicknell was born 15 Mar 1677/78 in Weymouth
(Norfolk) Massachusetts, and died 13 Oct 1764 in Weymouth. She married 1700 in Weymouth, Maurice (Morris)
Trufant. Maurice was born about 1678 in Weymouth (Norfolk) Massachusetts, and died 13 May 1740 in Weymouth.
Mary and Maurice had four children, including:
d1. David Trufant was born 11 Feb 1705 in Weymouth (Norfolk) Massachusetts. He married 1732, Mary Turner (3840.5.8).
