Almost all of our information on this family is from secondary website sources; I am presenting what we have found, but cannot say anything about the accuracy of  the information.  

3924.  Joseph Dudley was born 24 Apr 1643 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 3 Jun 1712 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut. He married 16 Oct 1670 in Connecticut,
3925.  Ann Robinson.  Ann was born in 1652.

They were farmers, and were Congregational.  Joseph received a land grant of 200 acres in 1690.  The farm has been occupied continuously by the Dudley family to the present day (through son William), and was operated as a farm until 1991.  The Dudley Foundation is currently making it into a historical museum and 19th-century working farm.

3924.6.  Mary Dudley was born about 1678 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut.  She married 21 May 1701, Joseph Wright, son of Joseph Wright (1639 Eng - 1714 CT) and Mary Stoddard (1643 CT - 1683 CT).  Joseph was born 14 Feb 1670/69 in Wethersfield, Connecticut, and died 10 Sep 1756 in Middletown, Connecticut.  His sister Sarah marries 15624.4.5 Stephen Hand, and his brother John marries 7852.2.6.1 Mercy Boardman.

3924.7.  Mercy Dudley was born about 1680 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut.  She married Josiah Bartlett.

3924.9.  Anna Dudley was born Mar 1687 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 27 Apr 1687 in Guilford, age 1 month.

3924.2.  Benjamin Dudley (twin to Joseph) was born 11 Jun 1671 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 23 Feb 1720 in Guilford.  He married on 5 Jan 1703/02 in Guilford, Tabitha Avered (some sources have Tabitha Averill, some have Tabitha Everard).  Tabitha was born in 1680 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 14 Apr 1738 in Connecticut.  After Benjamin died, she married 21 Feb 1723/22, Jasper Saxton.

3924.2.1.  Abigail Dudley was born 10 Mar 1704/03 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 1 Dec 1772.  She married 1 Mar 1727/26 in Guilford, Daniel Bishop [7810.5.6], son of Daniel Bishop (1663 CT - 1751 CT) and Mary Hall (1673 CT - 1755 CT).  Daniel was born 6 May 1700 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 17 Dec 1772 in Woodbury (Litchfield) Connecticut.

3924.2.1.1.  Mabel Bishop was born 6 Jan 1729/28 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 15 Jun 1789.  She married Joseph Stone.  Joseph was born in 1734, and died in 1815.

3924.2.1.2.  Amos Bishop was born 2 Jun 1733 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died in 1814.  He married Esther Church.

3924.2.1.3.  Miles Bishop was born 25 Jun 1739 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died in 1815.  He married Sarah Chapman.  Sarah was born about 1740, and died in 1822.

3924.2.1.4.  Anna Bishop was born 17 Oct 1742 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 23 Sep 1751 in Guilford, age 8.

3924.2.1.5.  Daniel Bishop was born 8 Jul 1746 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died in 1813.  He married Lois ___.   Lois was born in 1756, and died in 1796.

3924.2.1.6.  Lucy Bishop was born 27 Oct 1750 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 21 Apr 1751 in Guilford, age 6 months.

3924.2.1.7.  Ira Bishop was born about 1752 in Connecticut.  He married Deborah Throop.

3924.2.2.  Mary Dudley was born 23 Apr 1707 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut.  She married in 1729, Ebenezer Kingsley.

3924.2.3.  Deborah Dudley was born 10 Mar 1710/09 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut.

3924.2.4.  Mercy Dudley was born 14 Dec 1712 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 13 Feb 1713/12 in Guilford.

3924.2.5.  Sarah Dudley was born about 1714 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut.

3924.2.6.  Paul Dudley was born in 1717 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died in 1778.  He married 22 Dec 1750, Abigail Hoadley.  Abigail was born about 1720, and died 9 Feb 1787.

3924.3.  Caleb Dudley was born in 1673 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 20 Mar 1730/29 in Guilford.  He married 23 Jun 1700, Elizabeth Buck, daughter of Emanuel Buck (1623 - 1695 CT) and Mary Kirby (1644 CT - 1712 CT), and granddaughter of John Kirby.  An aunt and a cousin of Elizabeth also married into our family.

3924.3.1.  Thomas Dudley was born 23 Apr 1701 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 22 May 1776 in Guilford.  He married 11 Jun 1733, Abigail Seward, daughter of Daniel Seward and Mehitabel Boreman.  Abigail was born 19 May 1714 in Durham, Connecticut, and died 23 Jun 1790.

3924.3.1.1.  Thomas Dudley was born 16 Oct 1733 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 17 May 1751, age 21.

3924.3.1.2.  Abigail Dudley was born 22 Dec 1735 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 18 Apr 1820 in East Guilford.  She married on 11 Oct 1752 in Connecticut, Joshua Blatchley [3904.7.2], son of Joshua Blatchley and Mary Field.  Joshua was born 15 Feb 1724 in Connecticut, and died 2 Sep 1816 in East Guilford.  They had seven children, listed under Joshua who is closer to the main line.

3924.3.1.3.  Ruth Dudley was born 13 Apr 1739 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 31 Jan 1768.  She married 23 Oct 1765, Benjamin Evarts [15688.3.3.9.3.1], son of Aaron Evarts (1718 CT - 1804) and Sarah Rossiter (1720 CT - 1760).  Benjamin was born 26 Apr 1745 in Guilford, and died 17 Dec 1819 in Guilford.  Several of Benjamin's cousins also married into our family.

3924.3.1.4.  Eber Dudley was born 30 Sep 1741 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 3 Nov 1815.  He married 8 Aug 1795, Mehitabel Fairchild.  Mehitabel was born around 1745, and died 11 Jan 1830.

3924.3.1.5.  Sarah Dudley was born 14 Mar 1744/43 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 19 Nov 1799 in Connecticut.  She married John Graves.  John was born 9 Oct 1735 in E. Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 13 Apr 1791 in East Guilford.

3924.3.1.6.  Asenath Dudley was born 30 Aug 1746 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 15 Nov 1820 in Guilford.  She married on 11 Nov 1773, Abraham Evarts [7810.2.1.3.4], son of Eleazer Evarts (1716 - 1804) and Hannah Scranton (1716 - 1791).  Abraham was born on 30 Mar 1745 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 27 Mar 1823 in Guilford.

3924.3.1.7.  Joel Dudley was born 25 Jul 1750 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 23 Mar 1777.

3924.3.1.8.  Mabel Dudley was born 22 Nov 1751 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 11 Feb 1795.  She married 16 Jan 1777, Benjamin Chittenden, son of Samuel Chittenden (1704-1783) and Phyllis Burgis (1716-1760).  Benjamin was born 23 Nov 1749, and died 1 Sep 1820.  They had two children.

3924.3.1.9.  Hannah Dudley was born 23 Apr 1754 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 7 Aug 1810.  She married 15 Jan 1788, Abraham Cruttenden.  Abraham was born about 1750, and died 28 Nov 1837 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut.  They had four children.

3924.3.1.10.  Thomas Dudley was born 27 Feb 1757 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 8 Dec 1844 in Addison, Vermont.  He married Rachel Norton.

3924.3.2.  Caleb Dudley was born 20 Nov 1702 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 10 Oct 1793 in Guilford.  He married 13 May 1739, Hannah Stone [15688.3.3.3.1], daughter of Nathaniel Stone and Hannah Graves.  Hannah was born 14 Nov 1709 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 8 Jul 1796 in Guilford.

3924.3.2.1.  Caleb Dudley was born 24 Feb 1740/39 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died Mar 1740/39 in Guilford, age 1 month.

3924.3.2.2.  Caleb Dudley was born 24 Jul 1741 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 14 Sep 1802.  He married first in 1764, Hannah Evarts [7810.2.1.3.1], daughter of Eleazer Evarts (1716 - 1804) and Hannah Scranton (1716 - 1791).  Hannah was born in 1744, and died on 6 Sep 1765.  They had one child, Hannah died a month after the birth.
Caleb married second, Anna Munger.  Anna was born in 1742, and died in 1821.

3924.3.2.3.  Abraham Dudley was born 2 Mar 1743/42 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 24 Jul 1818.  He married Deborah Cruttenden, daughter of Joseph Cruttenden and Lucy Spencer.  Deborah was born 22 Mar 1745/44, and died 31 Mar 1808.

3924.3.2.4.  Nathaniel Dudley was born 3 Oct 1745 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut.

3924.3.2.5.  Amos Dudley was born 3 Nov 1747 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut.  He married 27 Feb 1711, Mary Evarts [7810.2.1.3.5], daughter of Eleazer Evarts (1716 - 1804) and Hannah Scranton (1716 - 1791).  Mary was born 4 Sep 1750, and died 28 Aug 1797.

3924.3.3.  Ruth Dudley was born 28 Dec 1704 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 13 Apr 1736.  She married 9 Mar 1732/31, Samuel Evarts, son of Daniel Evarts (1667 CT - 1751) and Mary West.  Samuel was born 10 Nov 1702 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 15 Nov 1788.
Ruth and Samuel had three children (second cousins to us):

3924.3.3.1.  Ruth Evarts was born 27 Feb 1733/32 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 29 Apr 1762 in E. Guilford.  She married on 18 Aug 1756, Josiah Bishop [7854.3.2.2.1], son of Josiah Bishop (1703 CT - 1754 CT) and Hannah Chittenden (1703 CT - 1773 CT).  Josiah was born 9 May 1730 in E. Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 31 Mar 1806.  They had three children.

3924.3.3.2.  Samuel Evarts was born 9 Aug 1734 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 16 Mar 1817.  He married 20 Mar 1758, Leah Bishop [15620.6.8.4.2], daughter of Ebenezer Bishop (1707 CT - 1747 CT) and Sarah Stevens (1722 - 1802 CT).  Leah was born 24 Nov 1739 in E. Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 13 Jun 1819.  They had eleven children.

3924.3.3.3.  Elizabeth Evarts was born 5 Mar 1736/35 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 15 Aug 1817.

Joseph married second, 22 Jan 1762, Diadema Norton [7820.6.4.3], daughter of Reuben Norton (1711-1796) and Hannah Hooker.

3924.3.5.2.  Elizabeth Dudley was born Jul 1740 in E. Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut.

3924.3.5.3.  Josiah Dudley was born 12 Mar 1743/42 in E. Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died Feb 1804.

3924.3.5.4.  Silence Dudley was born 14 Jul 1745 in E. Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 2 Apr 1822.  She married in 1778, Ambrose Graves, son of Ebenezer Graves and Mary Isbell. Ambrose was born 10 Sep 1738 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died on 22 Sep 1818 in Sunderland, Vermont.  He had first married Catharine Field (1745-1777).  Silence and Ambrose had one known child.

3924.3.5.5.  Ann Dudley was born 5 Jun 1747 in E. Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut.  She married 27 Apr 1785, James Willard.  James was born 23 Nov 1754, and died 15 Jul 1814.

3924.3.6.  Samuel Dudley was born 4 Dec 1711 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 10 Nov 1789.  He married 3 May 1738, June Talman, daughter of Ebenezer Talman (b. 1692).  June was born 27 Jul 1717 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 18 Oct 1802.  Her name is also seen as Jane Tallman.  Two of June's sisters marry Samuel's brothers.

3924.3.6.1.  Elizabeth Dudley was born 14 Mar 1739/38 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 17 Sep 1819.  She married first, 21 Nov 1759, Luman Ward [7822.6.3.3], son of William Ward (1705 CT - 1760 CT) and Abigail Crampton (1704 CT - 1757 CT).  Luman was born on 11 Feb 1738/37 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 7 May 1768 in Guilford.  They had four children.  Elizabeth married second, 12 Sep 1793, Jared Chittenden [7854.3.2.3.3], son of William Chittenden and Rachel White.

3924.3.6.2.  Prudence Dudley was born 31 May 1741 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 10 Apr 1804.  She married in 1784, Joseph Wilcox (also seen as Wilcoxson) [15736.8.8.2], son of Joseph Wilcoxson (1694 CT - 1770) and Hannah Goodale.  Joseph was born on 27 May 1726 in E. Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 2 Apr 1808.  He had four children from a previous marriage.

3924.3.6.3.  Jane Dudley was born 14 Feb 1745 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 21 Oct 1800.  She married Absalom Leete, son of Jordan Leete and Rebecca Watrous.  Absalom was born 3 Sep 1747 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 27 Oct 1800. They had four children.

3924.3.6.4.  Samuel Dudley was born 27 Nov 1747 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut.

3924.3.7.  Noah Dudley was born 15 Aug 1715 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut.  He married 28 May 1752, Submit Talman, daughter of Ebenezer Talman (b. 1692).  Submit was born 31 May 1728 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut.  Two of Submit's sisters marry Noah's brothers.

3924.3.7.3.  Benjamin Dudley was born 25 Jan 1758 in Roxbury (Litchfield) Connecticut, and was lost at sea.

3924.3.7.4.  Submit Dudley was born in 1760 in Roxbury (Litchfield) Connecticut.

3924.3.7.5.  Bela Dudley was born 25 Dec 1765 in Roxbury (Litchfield) Connecticut.

3924.3.7.6.  Desire Dudley was born 17 Feb 1767 in Roxbury (Litchfield) Connecticut.  She married William Johnson.

3924.3.8.  David Dudley was born 27 Nov 1718 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 17 Feb 1807.  He married 17 Feb 1742/41,  Mary Talman, daughter of Ebenezer Talman (b. 1692).  Mary was born in 1723 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 25 Mar 1778.  Two of Mary's sisters marry David's brothers.  David was a deacon -- source did not specify religion, probably Congregational.

David and Mary had six children (second cousins to us):

3924.3.8.1.  Mary Dudley was born 14 Jan 1743/42 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 10 Mar 1773.  She married 17 Oct 1757, Philemon French [7808.1.2.4.6], son of Thomas French (1698 CT - 1772 CT) and Sarah Graves (1699 CT - 1784 CT).  Philemon was born 12 May 1733 in Connecticut.  They had six children.

3924.3.8.2.  Lois Dudley was born 20 Mar 1745/44 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 18 Apr 1797.  She married 22 Sep 1760 in Connecticut, Aaron Stone [7844.1.2.2.7], son of Jehiel Stone (1704 CT - 1780) and Ruth White (1703 CT - 1774).  Aaron was born 21 Oct 1741 in Guilford, and died 7 Jan 1821.  Aaron's brother Isaac marries Lois' sister Parthena.  Lois and Aaron had seven children.

3924.3.8.3.  David Talman Dudley was born 1 Jan 1747/46 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 7 Oct 1751 in Guilford, age 4.

3924.3.8.4.  Parthena Dudley was born 14 Apr 1750 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 29 Apr 1811.  She married 4 Nov 1767 in Guilford, Isaac Stone [7844.1.2.2.8], son of Jehiel Stone (1704 CT - 1780) and Ruth White (1703 CT - 1774).  Isaac was born 25 Feb 1743/42 in Guilford, and died 15 Apr 1826 in Guilford (some sources say he died 1802 in New York).  Parthena and Isaac had eleven children.

3924.3.8.5.  Anna Dudley was born 13 Apr 1752 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died Oct 1819.  She married 25 Nov 1767 in Guilford, Capt Timothy Field [7810.7.4.1], son of David Field (1697 CT - 1770 CT) and Catherine Bishop (1710 CT -  ).  Timothy was born 12 Mar 1744/43, and died 1 Jan 1818 in E. Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut.  There is no indication whether the title "Captain" refers to a boat captain or a military rank.

3924.3.8.6.  Kate Dudley was born 17 Jul 1754 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 17 Aug 1754 in Guilford, age 1 month.

3924.4.  Joshua Dudley was born 17 Dec 1674 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 29 Jan 1750/49.  He married 20 Oct 1712 in Guilford, Sarah Perry, the daughter of Arthur Perry (1651 MA - 1709 CT) and Ann Judson (1656 CT - 1722 CT).  Sarah was born Jan 1683/82 in Stratford (Fairfield) Connecticut, and died 18 Jul 1743.

Lydia and John are third cousins, both being descended from William Leete and Anne Payne.

3924.8.  William Dudley was born 18 Oct 1684 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 23 Feb 1761.  He married 10 Oct 1701, Ruth Strong, daughter of Thomas Strong (1633 MA - 1689 MA) and Rachel Holton.  Ruth's sister Rachel married William's brother Miles, and a niece also married into our family.  Ruth was born 4 Feb 1688/87 in Northampton, Massachusetts, and died 18 Sep 1743.
William was the first to work the farm that is known today as Dudley Farm.  He passed it to son Jared.

3924.8.3.7.  Elizabeth Dudley was born 10 Apr 1756 in Middletown, Connecticut.  She married Samuel Burnham.

3924.8.3.8.  Lois Dudley was born 9 May 1759 in Middletown, Connecticut.  She married Eli Wilcox [15626.5.4.3.9], son of Jeremiah Wilcox (1715 - 1760) and Mary Stowe (1717 - 1798). Eli was born 24 Mar 1754 in Middletown, Connecticut.  They had five children.

3924.8.3.9.  Isaac Dudley was born 8 Apr 1761 in Middletown, Connecticut.  He married Ann Woodhouse.

3924.8.3.10.  Mabel Dudley was born 5 Dec 1763 in Middletown, Connecticut.  She married Samuel Howe.

3924.8.4.  Lucy Dudley was born 29 Mar 1721/20 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 12 Jun 1758.  She married 7 Dec 1749, Michael Baldwin [15688.3.2.7.3], son of Timothy Baldwin and Bathsheba Stone.  Michael was a blacksmith, and went heavily into debt to educate his children.  After Lucy died, Michael married a second time (wife unknown) and had seven more children, one of whom (son Henry Baldwin) became a U.S. Supreme Court Justice.

3924.8.4.2.  Dudley Baldwin was born 17 Apr 1753 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 29 Mar 1794.

3924.8.4.3.  Abraham Baldwin was born in 1754 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died in 1807 in Georgia or Washington DC.  Abraham graduated from Yale in 1772, and served there as a minister and tutor 1775-1779.  He quit that during the Revolutionary War, serving as a chaplain in the Continental Army 1779-1781.  He then returned to the study of law, and was admitted to the bar in Connecticut in 1783.  In 1784 he moved to Georgia and practiced law there.  He was a representative from Georgia to the Continental Congress in 1785, and a member of the Constitutional Convention.  He served in the U.S. Congress (Georgia) 1789-1799, and the U.S. Senate (Georgia) 1799-1807.  He was a Democratic-Republican, allied with Jefferson and Madison.  He was a founder (1798) and the first president of Franklin College, which later became the University of Georgia.  Abraham was serving in the Senate at the time of his death, and is buried in Washington DC.

3924.8.4.4.  Ruth Baldwin was born 13 Sep 1756 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 3 May 1818 in Washington, D.C.

3924.8.4.5.  Lucy Baldwin was born 22 May 1758 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 2 May 1760, age 2.

3924.8.5.  Lois Dudley was born 14 Feb 1723/22 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 7 Oct 1743.

3924.8.6.  Medad Dudley was born 3 Feb 1725/24 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 10 Jan 1804.  He married 10 Jun 1756, Mary Fowler [7852.1.3.5.6], daughter of Daniel Fowler and Grace Burrow. Mary was born 31 Aug 1729, and died 14 Jul 1810.

3924.8.7.  Jared Dudley was born 17 Nov 1727 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 14 Jun 1811.  He married 25 Dec 1754, Mary Chittenden, daughter of Daniel Chittenden (1700 CT - 1781 CT) and Abigail Downs (~1708 - 1782 CT).  Mary was born 26 Jun 1730, and died 18 Nov 1821.  She is descended from William Chittenden who arrived in Connecticut in 1639, and many of her family married into ours.

Jared and Mary had five children (second cousins to us):

3924.8.7.1.  Luther Dudley was born 16 Sep 1755, and died in 1810.  He married Mary Chidsey.  Luther inherited the family farm from his father, and in turn left it to his son Erastus.  Luther's 3gr-grandson David Dudley, the last owner, was unmarried and willed the farm and house (built in 1844) to the North Guilford Congregational Church and North Guilford Volunteer Fire Department in 1991.

3924.8.7.2.  Jared Dudley was born 29 Jun 1757.

3924.8.7.3.  Ruth Dudley was born 23 Jan 1762, and died 3 Jun 1846.

3924.8.7.4.  Eunice Dudley was born 3 Sep 1764.

Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 22 Jan 1821.

3924.8.9.4.  Lucy Russell was born 24 May 1760 in Branford (New Haven) Connecticut.  She married Gideon Norton.

3924.8.9.5.  Temple Russell was born 18 Aug 1761 in Branford (New Haven) Connecticut.  She married Aaron Baldwin.

3924.8.9.6.  Philemon Russell was born 20 Mar 1764 in Branford (New Haven) Connecticut.

3924.8.10.  Ruth Dudley was born 9 Jun 1733 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 20 Jun 1745, age 12.
