You are welcome to use anything on this page, but be aware that although I have been as careful and accurate as possible, I am not a professional genealogist. I have been working on our genealogy for over 25 years, and started the website in 2005. Some of the lines I have researched myself; some, especially on Rita’s side, we inherited the research of other family members over the past 75 years. Still, the majority of these pages are limited to compilations from published books and what I could find on the internet. The target audience was and remains our family, so the family pages are limited to our own ancestors. I have set it up so that each page is one set of ancestors, with their descendants. 30 Apr 1692 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut. He is a son of
Henry Bristol [7840] and Rebecca ___ [7841]. Henry married in 1678 in New Haven Co, Connecticut,
3921. Phebe ___. They were Congregational.
Samuel and Phebe had four children:

3920.4. Abiah Bristol was born in 1691 in New Haven Co, Connecticut, and died 29 Sep 1758.
3920.1. Samuel Bristol was born in 1679 in New Haven Co, Connecticut, and died
7 Oct 1727 in Connecticut. He married in 1715, Esther Edwards. Their three youngest children all died
within the same month in 1729, possibly from a smallpox epidemic that started about this time. After Samuel died,
Esther married another of our relatives, John Kelsey [15670.6.3].
Samuel and Esther had six children (first cousins to us):
3920.1.1. Samuel Bristol was born 12 Mar 1716 in Connecticut, and died 25
Aug 1752. He married 14 Nov 1744 Sibyl Evarts, daughter of James Evarts and Anna Bow.
Samuel and Sibyl had two children (second cousins to us):
3920.1.1.1. Amy Bristol was born 7 Oct 1745, and died 1 Aug 1806.
3920.1.1.2. Samuel Bristol was born 22 Aug 1749.
3920.1.2. Jemima Bristol was born 17 Aug 1717 in Connecticut, and died 24 Jun 1750. She married 21 Jun 1739 John Rossiter, son of Josiah Rossiter (1680 CT - 1751 CT) and Mary Hill. John was born about 1706, and died 20 Apr 1801.
3920.1.3. Esther Bristol was born 13 Jul 1720 in Connecticut, and died sometime before 1742. She
married in 1736 Nathaniel Hull [3918.5], son of Thomas Hull (1665 CT - 1720) and
Hannah Sheather (1666 CT - 1714 CT). Nathaniel was born 23 Apr 1699 in Killingworth (Middlesex) Connecticut. This was
Nathaniel’s second marriage. Esther and Nathaniel are both related to us, but not to each other.
Esther and Nathaniel had two children (both first and second cousin to us), listed under Nathaniel who is closer to our main line.
3920.1.4. Lott Bristol was born 2 Mar 1721 in Connecticut, and died 17 Jun 1729, age 8.

3920.1.6. Daniel Bristol was born 22 Jul 1727 in Connecticut, and died 20 Jun 1729, age 2.
3920.3. Phebe Bristol was born in 1683 in New Haven Co, Connecticut, and died 6 Dec 1778.
She married 7 Feb 1710/11, Isaac Johnson [7810.1.7], son of Isaac Johnson (1657 CT - 1688) and
Mary Bishop (1652 CT - 1703). Isaac was born 26 Apr 1687 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died
1 Feb 1745/46 in Connecticut.
Phebe and Isaac had eleven children (both first and second cousin to us):
3920.3.1. Isaac Johnson was born 1 Dec 1713 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut. He married 1737 in Guilford, Dorothy Maltby, daughter of John Maltby and Hannah Lord. Dorothy was born 20 Apr 1715, and died 12 Apr 1789.
3920.3.2. Nathaniel Johnson was born 4 Oct 1715 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 18 Jan 1746 in Connecticut. He married Phyllis Burgis. Phyllis was born 1 Mar 1715/16 in Connecticut, and died 12 Oct 1760.
3920.3.3. Phebe Johnson was born 11 Mar 1717 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut.
She married 15 Nov 1734 Joseph Evarts, son of Joseph Evarts and Hannah Scranton. Joseph was born
14 Jun 1716, and died 6 Jun 1789.
Phebe and Joseph had two children that we know of, there may be others (second cousins to us):
3920.3.3.1. Lucy Evarts was born 19 Oct 1741.
3920.3.3.2. Joseph Evarts was born in 1745, and died 11 Dec 1795. He
married in 1776, Elizabeth Hall, daughter of
Benjamin Hall and Judith Hall. Elizabeth was born in 1748, and died in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut.
Some sources have Miles Evarts, possibly a third child, but given with same dates and same wife as Joseph.
3920.3.4. Jehiel Johnson was born 26 Mar 1719 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died
23 Oct 1799 in Connecticut. He married 25 Nov 1747 Esther Hall, daughter of
Ebenezer Hall (1678 CT - 1723 CT) and Deborah Highland (1674 CT - 1758 CT). Esther was born 3 Mar 1716/17 in Connecticut,
and died 9 Sep 1799 in Connecticut.
Jehiel and Esther had four children (second cousins to us):
3920.3.4.1. Hannah Johnson was born 19 Sep 1748 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died sometime before 1753 in Guilford.
3920.3.4.2. Miles Johnson was born 3 Feb 1749/50 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and
died 1 Dec 1834 in Claremont (Sullivan) New Hampshire. He married first, 25 May 1774 in Connecticut, Sarah Lee.
Sarah was born 22 Mar 1752 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died about 1775 in Connecticut.
Miles married second, 19 Feb 1777 in Connecticut, Mary Palmer, widow of Eber Kirkham and
daughter of Elijah Palmer and Mary Truesdale (b. 1727 CT). Mary was born 10 Jan 1754 in Branford
(New Haven) Connecticut, and died 25 Feb 1825 in Claremont (Sullivan) New Hampshire.
3920.3.4.3. Hannah Johnson was born 17 Apr 1753 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut.
3920.3.4.4. Deborah Johnson was born 2 Apr 1755 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 9 Sep 1843. She married Elon Lee. Elon was born 17 Jun 1757 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut.
3920.3.5. Jerusha Johnson was born 31 Oct 1720 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut. She married
2 Nov 1737, John Hall, son of Ebenezer Hall and Deborah Highland. John was born
27 Dec 1706 in Guilford, and died 9 Feb 1741/42.
Jerusha and John had one son that we know of, there may be others (second cousin to us):
3920.3.5.1. Miles Hall was born 23 Oct 1740 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 26 Oct 1801. He married Sarah Bishop [7810.2.4.5], daughter of David Bishop and Deborah Seward. Sarah was born 18 Aug 1736 in Guilford, and died 8 Apr 1792.
3920.3.6. Mary Johnson was born 1 Oct 1722 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 15 Sep 1803.
3920.3.7. Thankful Johnson was born 6 Nov 1724 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 9 Apr 1797. She married Seth Benton.
3920.3.8. Benjamin Johnson was born 12 Feb 1726/27 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 13 Jan 1813 in Durham (Middlesex) Connecticut. He married 28 Nov 1750 in Connecticut, Rebecca Seward, daughter of Daniel Seward and Mehitabel Boreman. Rebecca was born 23 Feb 1722/23 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 13 Jan 1815 in Durham (Middlesex) Connecticut. Rebecca’s sister Elizabeth marries 3908.2.1 Ezekiel Meigs.
3920.3.9. John Johnson was born 16 Dec 1728 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died
31 Jul 1784 in Guilford. He married on 9 Nov 1750, Chloe Shelley. Chloe was born 24 Mar 1732, and
died 16 Jan 1815.

3920.3.9.3. Isaac Johnson was born sometime around 1750’s to 1760’s, probably in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut.
3920.3.9.4. Phebe Johnson was born in 1761 in Connecticut, probably Guilford. She married ___ Atwater.
3920.3.9.5. Chloe Johnson was born sometime around 1750’s to 1760’s, probably in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut.
3920.3.9.6. Ebenezer Johnson was born 14 Apr 1764 in Guilford (New Haven)
Connecticut, and died 2 Oct 1843 in Lexington (Greene) New York. He married 5 Feb 1786 in
Wallingford (New Haven) Connecticut, Sarah Peck. Sarah was born about 1765 and died sometime before 1830.
Ebenezer served in the Revolutionary War. He volunteered first at age 13, and served 6 months as a drummer boy.
He then volunteered for two years in 1781, and was part of the militia guarding the Connecticut coast.
3920.3.9.7. Beulah Johnson was born sometime around 1750’s to 1760’s, probably in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut.
3920.3.9.8. Benjamin Johnson was born sometime around 1750’s to 1760’s, probably in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut.
3920.3.10. Submit Johnson was born 16 Dec 1728 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut. She married Reuben Shelley.
3920.3.11. Nathan Johnson was born 4 Dec 1731 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut,
and died 25 Feb 1821. He married 18 Mar 1756 in Connecticut, Prudence Chittenden [7810.7.2.4], daughter of Abigail Bishop and Gideon Chittenden. Prudence
was born 14 Oct 1729, and died 22 Aug 1822.
Nathan and Prudence had one child that we know of, there were probably others (second cousin to us):
3920.3.11.1. Ruth Johnson was born 6 Nov 1756, and died 6 Mar 1832. She married 26 Nov 1775, Eber Parmelee, son of John Parmelee and Jane Cruttenden. Eber was born 14 Nov 1750 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 5 May 1818.
