Some of the lines I have researched myself; some, especially on Rita’s side, we inherited the research of other family members over the past 75 years. Still, the majority of these pages are limited to compilations from published books and what I could find on the internet. The target audience was and remains our family, so the family pages are limited to our own ancestors. I have set it up so that each page is one set of ancestors, with their descendants. 3848.6.1.9. Gilbert Brooks was born 24 Jan 1755 in Scituate (Plymouth) Massachusetts.
3848.6.1.10. Elizabeth Brooks was born 27 Aug 1757 in Scituate (Plymouth) Massachusetts.
3848.6.1.11. Deborah Brooks was born 26 May 1761 in Scituate (Plymouth) Massachusetts.
3848.6.2. Gilbert Brooks was born Jul 1718 in Scituate (Plymouth) Massachusetts. He
married 13 Sep 1739 in Scituate, Deborah Curtis [1926.5], daughter of Samuel Curtis
and Anna Barstow. Gilbert and Deborah are second cousins once removed (through Curtis).
Gilbert and Deborah had four children, listed under Deborah who is closer to the main line.
Deborah died sometime before 1749, and Gilbert married second, 9 Aug 1749, Anna Holbrook. Anna was born
4 Jan 1723/24 in Weymouth (Norfolk) Massachusetts, and died 17 Aug 1809 in Weymouth. We don’t
know of any children from the second marriage.
Gilbert Sr. married second, 12 Mar 1718, Abigail Stockbridge. Abigail was born
22 Mar 1694/95 in Scituate (Plymouth) Massachusetts, and died sometime before 1754 in Scituate.
Gilbert and Abigail had ten children (first cousins to us):
3848.6.3. Benjamin Brooks was born about 1720, baptized 31 Jul 1720 at the 2nd Church of Scituate (Plymouth) Massachusetts.
3848.6.4. Ebenezer Brooks was born about 1722, baptized 23 Mar 1722 at the 2nd Church of Scituate (Plymouth) Massachusetts, and died about Mar 1768.
3848.6.5. Mercy Brooks was born about 1723, baptized 10 Feb 1722/23 at the 2nd Church of Scituate (Plymouth) Massachusetts, and died sometime before 1768.
3848.6.6. Ruth Brooks was born about 1725, baptized 2 May 1725 at the 2nd Church of Scituate (Plymouth) Massachusetts. She married 12 May 1748, James Thomas.
3848.6.7. Elizabeth Brooks was born about 1727, baptized 1 Jan 1727/28 at the 2nd Church of Scituate (Plymouth) Massachusetts.
3848.6.8. Abigail Brooks was born about 1729, baptized 20 Apr 1729 at the 2nd Church of Scituate (Plymouth) Massachusetts. She married 25 Oct 1753, Amos Lapham, son of David Lapham (1706-1773) and Rebecca King (1706). Amos was born 30 Mar 1731 in Marshfield, Massachusetts, and died 30 Mar 1731.
3848.6.9. Experience Brooks was born about 1731, baptized 16 May 1731 at the 2nd Church of Scituate (Plymouth) Massachusetts, and died 6 Dec 1768. She married Jul 1760, Charles Randall, the son of Joshua Randall (b. 1710) and Mercy Stockbridge (b. 1719). Charles was born 30 Sep 1738 in Scituate (Plymouth) Massachusetts.
3848.6.10. Charles Brooks was born about 1733, baptized 20 Jan 1733 at the 2nd Church of Scituate (Plymouth) Massachusetts, and died 29 Dec 1807 in Westport (Lincoln) Maine (was Massachusetts at the time). He married 1 Feb 1764 in Maine, Hannah Rowell.
3848.6.11. John Brooks was born about 1736, baptized 9 May 1736 at the 2nd Church of Scituate (Plymouth) Massachusetts, and died sometime before 1768.
3848.6.12. Rachel Brooks was born about 1740, baptized 20 Jul 1740 at the 2nd Church of Scituate (Plymouth) Massachusetts, and died in 1822. She married John Heal, son of Peter Heal (~1710 - 1748) and Miriam Haskell. John was born 4 Jun 1737 in Georgetown (Sagadahoc) Maine (was Massachusetts at the time), and died 10 Jul 1802 in Georgetown.
