I have been working on our genealogy for over 25 years, and started the website in 2005. Some of the lines I have researched myself; some, especially on Rita’s side, we inherited the research of other family members over the past 75 years. Still, the majority of these pages are limited to compilations from published books and what I could find on the internet. The target audience was and remains our family, so the family pages are limited to our own ancestors. I have set it up so that each page is one set of ancestors, with their descendants. 1962. Joseph Dudley was born 11 Jun 1671 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut and died 19 Feb 1725/26 in Guilford. He is a son of Joseph Dudley [3924] and Ann Robinson [3925]. Joseph married 27 Jul 1704 in Guilford,
1963. Abigail Hubbard. Abigail was born 1 Mar 1670/71 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 28 Jun 1740 in Guilford. She is a daughter of Daniel Hubbard [3926] and Elizabeth Jordan [3927].
They were Congregational. Their son Oliver marries into Rita’s family.
Joseph and Abigail had five children:

1962.2. Joseph Dudley was born 8 Jun 1707 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 9 Jun 1762 in Guilford.
1962.3. Jehiel Dudley was born 6 Dec 1708 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 14 Jul 1741 in Guilford.
1962.4. Oliver Dudley (1711 CT - 1781 CT) had descendants and is expanded below.
1962.5. Eunice Dudley [981] (1715 CT - 1755 CT) and Bezaleel Bristol Jr. are direct ancestors, separate page.
1962.1. Ann Dudley was born 28 Jul 1705 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut. She married
27 Dec 1733 probably in Connecticut, Jacob Rose, son of Jonathan Rose (~1675 - 1736 CT) and Abigail Barker (~1675 - 1739).
Jacob was born 20 Mar 1701/02 in Branford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 1 Jul 1780 in Branford.
Ann and Jacob had five children (first cousins to us):
1962.1.1. Chloe Rose was born 14 Nov 1736 in Branford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 13 Oct 1803
in East Bloomfield (Ontario) New York. She married in 1755 in Amenia (Dutchess) New York, John Adams, son of John Adams (1713 CT - 1782 MA)
and Mary Park (b. 1715). John was born 29 Sep 1736 in Pomfret, Connecticut, and died 30 Aug 1793 in
Bloomfield (Ontario) New York. He is not related to our other Adams line.
Chloe and John had ten children (second cousins to us):
1962.1.1.1. Jonathan Adams was born 13 Oct 1757 in Amenia (Dutchess) New York, and died 8 Mar 1811 in East Bloomfield (Ontario) New York. He married in 1777, Abigail Sperry, daughter of Aaron Sperry (1727 CT - 1811 NY) and Abigail Bishop (1726 CT- ). Abigail was born 15 May 1756 in Woodbridge (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 27 May 1843 in E. Bloomfield (Ontario) New York.
1962.1.1.2. John Adams was born 25 Mar 1760 in Amenia (Dutchess) New York, and died 27 Sep 1849 in East Bloomfield (Ontario) New York. He married 25 May 1780 in Massachusetts, Aner Hickox. Aner (yeah I know, but that’s how the name is listed in several sources) was born 24 Mar 1761 in Waterbury, Connecticut, and died 4 May 1813 in East Bloomfield (Ontario) New York.
1962.1.1.3. William Adams was born about 1762 in Amenia (Dutchess) New York, and died 19 Feb 1821 in East Bloomfield (Ontario) New York.
1962.1.1.4. Chloe Adams was born 13 May 1764 in Amenia (Dutchess) New York, and died 23 Jan 1811. She married Ephraim Reu.
1962.1.1.5. Sarah Adams (called Sally) was born 19 Feb 1766 in Amenia (Dutchess) New York.
1962.1.1.6. Mary Adams (called Molly) was born 15 Mar 1768 in Alford (Berkshire) Massachusetts, and died 20 Jan 1849 in Ohio.
1962.1.1.7. Ruth Adams was born 16 Feb 1770 in Alford (Berkshire) Massachusetts. She married in 1790, John Keyes.
1962.1.1.8. Abner Adams was born 15 Mar 1772 in Alford (Berkshire) Massachusetts, and died
8 Dec 1847. He married 4 Oct 1798, Hannah Rowley, daughter of Joseph Rowley (1753-1835) and
Syble Fox (~1749-1804). Hannah was born 15 Mar 1777 and died 6 Sep 1849.
The home they built in Bloomfield is currently a bed and breakfast;
abneradamshouse.com has some photos and a little history on Abner.
1962.1.1.9. Joseph Adams was born 4 Oct 1775 in Alford (Berkshire) Massachusetts, and died 28 Jun 1839.
1962.1.1.10. Lucy Adams was born 9 Dec 1777 in Alford (Berkshire) Massachusetts, and died in 1825.
1962.1.1.11. Huldah Adams was born 28 Jan 1780 in Alford (Berkshire) Massachusetts, and died 20 Feb 1860. She married Silas Eggleston. Silas was born in 1782, and died 19 Feb 1851 in New York (some have his death in 1854).
1962.1.2. Mary Rose was born 6 Apr 1738 in Branford (New Haven) Connecticut. She married first, James Beard. Mary married second, 21 Sep 1769, her cousin John Hubbard [3926.1.4.1], son of John Hubbard and Patience Chittenden. John was born 31 Jul 1723 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 25 Mar 1781 in Guilford. John and Mary are second cousins, both descending from 3926 Daniel Hubbard and Elizabeth Jordan.
1962.1.3. Reuben Rose was born 16 Jul 1741 in Branford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died in 1810. He married in 1772, Lucretia Meigs [7816.3.3.4], daughter of Jehiel Meigs and Lucy Bartlett. Lucretia was born 14 Jul 1745 in Connecticut.
Reuben and Lucretia probably had several children, but we only know of one (both second and third cousin to us):
1962.1.3.1. Reuben Rose was born 21 Aug 1786 in North Branford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 4 Sep 1861 in Hampton, New York. He married Nancy Bearce, daughter of John Bearce and Molly Beardsley. Nancy was born 18 Feb 1791 in New Fairfield (Fairfield) Connecticut, and died sometime after 1871. Nancy was said to be about one-fourth Wampanoag/Narragansett.
1962.1.4. Lucy Rose was born 4 Apr 1743 in Branford (New Haven) Connecticut. She married Edward Mulford, son of Barnabas Mulford (1716 NY - 1792) and Hannah Petty. Edward was born 1 Feb 1749 in Branford (New Haven) Connecticut (some have 1741), and died in 1833.
1962.1.5. Rebecca Rose was born 5 Jul 1745 in Branford (New Haven) Connecticut. She married
Timothy Eliot, son of Abial Eliot and Mary Leete. Timothy was born 23 Oct 1736.
Rebecca and Timothy had one child that we know of, there may be others (second cousin to us):
1962.1.5.1. Timothy Eliot was born probably sometime around 1770. He married Lydia Bartholomew.
1962.4. Oliver Dudley was born 15 Aug 1711 in Guilford (New
Haven) Connecticut, and died 20 May 1781 in Guilford. He married 26 Nov 1738 in
Guilford, Elizabeth Kilbourn [we had from somewhere that this was
Elizabeth Kilbourn [SPENCER 5632.9.1.7.3], daughter of Abraham Kilbourn (1691) and Sarah Mitchell (~1695 - 1719 CT); but on
looking at Jacobus data I think this is not true, she has other conflicting marriages].
Oliver and Elizabeth probably had several children, but we only know of one:
1962.4.1. Olive Dudley was born about 1745 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut,
and died 13 Aug 1813. Olive is a first cousin on Bill’s side, and a fourth cousin on Rita’s side.
She married 9 Aug 1769, Thomas Burgess, son of Thomas Burgess and Hannah Dodd. Thomas was born
24 Feb 1738 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 14 Jun 1799.
Olive and Thomas had seven children (second cousins on Bill’s side, and fifth cousins on Rita’s side):
1962.4.1.1. Thomas Burgess was born 6 Oct 1770 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 25 Mar 1861. He married 14 Feb 1793, Sarah Deshon. Sarah was born 29 Feb 1772 in New London, Connecticut, and died 25 Jan 1852. They had seven children.
1962.4.1.2. Samuel Burgis was born 17 Jan 1774 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 18 Apr 1854. He married 15 Nov 1787, Sarah Chalker [3930.9.6.2], daughter of Dr. Isaac Chalker (1736 CT - 1803 CT) and Sarah Starr (1742 CT - 1821 CT). Sarah was born 6 Jan 1775 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 4 May 1822. They had three children.
1962.4.1.3. Olive Burgess was born 14 Sep 1776 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 6 Feb 1867. She married 13 Aug 1800, Ozias Whedon. Ozias was born about 1775, and died 30 Jan 1806.
1962.4.1.4. Elias Burgess was born 13 May 1779 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 1 May 1808 in New York.
1962.4.1.5. Hannah Burgess was born 9 May 1783 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 3 Aug 1856.
1962.4.1.6. Elizabeth Burgess was born 2 Nov 1787 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 29 May 1844.
1962.4.1.7. Harriet Burgess was born 2 Sep 1790 in Guilford (New Haven) Connecticut, and died 12 Oct 1791 in Guilford.
