Bill’s Family: Ancestors of Eldora Beahm

These pages are a compilation of my work and that of others. You are welcome to use anything on this page, but be aware that although I have been as careful and accurate as possible, I am not a professional genealogist. I have been working on our genealogy for over 25 years, and started the website in 2005. Some of the lines I have researched myself; some, especially on Rita’s side, we inherited the research of other family members over the past 75 years. Still, the majority of these pages are limited to compilations from published books and what I could find on the internet. The target audience was and remains our family, so the family pages are limited to our own ancestors. I have set it up so that each page is one set of ancestors, with their descendants. For the most part I have limited my scope to their great-grandchildren (second cousins to us); in some cases I list sources which may continue further.   HOME

Nathaniel Brooks and Mary Taylor

NOTABLES: 1924.3.2 Nathaniel Brooks served in the Revolutionary War

1924. Nathaniel Brooks was born Aug 1693 in Massachusetts, and died 1764 in Massachusetts. He is a son of Nathaniel Brooks [3848] and Elizabeth Curtis [3849]. Nathaniel married 27 Nov 1717 in Massachusetts,
1925. Mary Taylor. Mary was born sometime around 1695. She is a daughter of Isaac Taylor [3850] and Elizabeth Knight [3851].

Nathaniel and Mary had nine children:

1924.1. Taylor Brooks [962] (1718 MA) and Miriam Curtis are direct ancestors, separate page.

1924.2. Noah Brooks was born in 1720 in Scituate (Plymouth) Massachusetts, and died in Massachusetts.

1924.3. Nathaniel Brooks was born in 1723 in Scituate (Plymouth) Massachusetts. He married first, in 1744, probably in Massachusetts, Elizabeth Benson. Elizabeth was born sometime around 1725, and died sometime around 1750. I suspect she might be our 3846.5.5 Elizabeth, but cannot find any evidence.
Nathaniel and Elizabeth had one child (first cousin to us):

1924.3.1. Elizabeth Brooks was born about 1745 in Scituate (Plymouth) Massachusetts.

Nathaniel married second, probably late 1750’s, Sarah Collamore.
Nathaniel and Sarah had four children (first cousins to us):

1924.3.2. Nathaniel Brooks was born sometime around 1760 in Scituate (Plymouth) Massachusetts. He served in the Revolutionary War.

1924.3.3. Lucy Brooks was born sometime around 1760 in Scituate (Plymouth) Massachusetts.

1924.3.4. Lydia Brooks was born sometime around 1760 in Scituate (Plymouth) Massachusetts.

1924.3.5. Simeon Brooks was born sometime around 1760 in Scituate (Plymouth) Massachusetts.

1924.4. Lydia Brooks was born 24 Apr 1726 in Scituate (Plymouth) Massachusetts. She married on 14 Oct 1742, Isaac Damon, son of Daniel Damon (1688-1733) and Bathsheba Sylvester (1692-1720). Isaac was born 17 Sep 1718 in Scituate (Plymouth) Massachusetts, and died 14 Oct 1742. He is a half-brother to Robert Damon, who married Lydia’s sister Mary.
Lydia and Isaac had one child that we know of, there may be others (first cousin to us):

1924.4.1. Lydia Damon was born 18 Apr 1751 in Scituate (Plymouth) Massachusetts, and died 12 Dec 1831 in Scituate. She married in 1773, David Kent, the son of David Kent (1719-1759) and Abigail Damon. David died about 1825.
This Kent family may be related somehow to the source of our Edward Kent Vining.

1924.5. Mary Brooks was born 11 Nov 1727 in Scituate (Plymouth) Massachusetts.  She married 2 Sep 1750, Robert Damon, son of Daniel Damon and Jemima Stetson (1695), and a half-brother to Isaac Damon above. Robert was born 3 Mar 1726 in Scituate (Plymouth) Massachusetts.

1924.6. Michael Brooks was born in 1729 in Scituate (Plymouth) Massachusetts.

1924.7. Mercy Brooks was born in 1731 in Scituate (Plymouth) Massachusetts.

1924.8. Simeon Brooks was born in 1733 in Scituate (Plymouth) Massachusetts.

1924.9. Stephen Brooks was born in 1737 in Scituate (Plymouth) Massachusetts.

I am currently going back through old pages to add sources -- have not completed this one yet, but will eventually
