Bill’s Family: Ancestors of Eldora Beahm |
||
| These pages are a compilation of my work and that of others. You are welcome to use anything on this page, but be aware that although I have been as careful and accurate as possible, I am not a professional genealogist. I have been working on our genealogy for over 25 years, and started the website in 2005. Some of the lines I have researched myself; some, especially on Rita’s side, we inherited the research of other family members over the past 75 years. Still, the majority of these pages are limited to compilations from published books and what I could find on the internet. The target audience was and remains our family, so the family pages are limited to our own ancestors. I have set it up so that each page is one set of ancestors, with their descendants. For the most part I have limited my scope to their great-grandchildren (second cousins to us); in some cases I list sources which may continue further. | HOME | |

1922. John Randall was born 16 Apr 1673 in Weymouth (Norfolk) Massachusetts, and died 4 Sep 1730 in Weymouth. He is a son of John Randall [3844] and Mercy Aldrich [3845]. John married about 1698,
1923. Susanna Benson. Susanna was born about 1678 in Hull (Plymouth) Massachusetts, and died 11 May 1761 in Weymouth (Norfolk) Massachusetts. She is a daughter of Joseph Benson [3846] and Sarah [3847].
John and Susanna had nine children:
1922.1. Sarah Randall (1699 MA - ) had descendants and is expanded below.
1922.2. Mercy Randall was born about 1700 in Weymouth (Norfolk) Massachusetts. She married 18 Dec 1723
in Weymouth, Joseph Porter [7680.9.1.4], son of Thomas Porter Jr. (1673 MA -1753 MA) and Abigail
Holbrook (~1675 - ). Joseph was born sometime around 1700 in Massachusetts. Mercy and Joseph are both related to us, but
not to each other. There is a conflict between sources regarding the birth dates of Mercy and her sister Mary: some have
Mercy born 16 Nov 1704, and Mary born 1697.
Mercy and Joseph had one child that we know of, there were probably others (both first and third cousin to us):
1922.2.1. John Porter was born 23 Jun 1725, probably in Massachusetts.
1922.3. Susanna Randall was born 14 Jan 1701/02 in Weymouth (Norfolk) Massachusetts, and died 22 Dec 1724 in Weymouth. She married 15 Sep 1721 in Weymouth, Samuel Webb.
1922.4. Mary Randall was born 16 Nov 1704 in Weymouth (Norfolk) Massachusetts, and died 3 Sep 1736 in Weymouth. She married 6 Feb 1723 in Weymouth, Isaac Jones. One source has her as born 1697, and places her sister Mercy at 1704.
1922.5. Hannah Randall was born 12 Nov 1706 in Weymouth (Norfolk) Massachusetts, and died 26 Nov 1706 in Weymouth, age 2 weeks.
1922.6. Hannah Randall [961] (1709 MA - ) and Thomas Vining are direct ancestors, separate page.
1922.7. Thankful Randall (1711 MA - ) had descendants and is expanded below.
1922.8. Silence Randall was born 28 Mar 1714 in Weymouth (Norfolk) Massachusetts, and died 3 Sep 1736 in Weymouth. She married 3 Feb 1731 in Weymouth, Ezra Whitemarsh Jr.
1922.9. Experience Randall was born 24 Jan 1718/19 in Weymouth (Norfolk) Massachusetts and
died 21 May 1790 in Abington (Plymouth) Massachusetts. She married 13 May 1759 in Weymouth, Lt John
Bicknell Jr., son of John Bicknell (1688 MA - 1779 MA) and Hannah Humphrey (1692 MA - 1770 MA). John was born
30 Aug 1715 in Weymouth (Norfolk) Massachusetts, and died 23 May 1790 in Abington (Plymouth) Massachusetts.
Several other Bicknells married into the Vining family.
1922.1. Sarah Randall was born 9 May 1699 in Weymouth (Norfolk)
Massachusetts. She married 13 Jun 1719 in Weymouth, Jonathan Wild, son of John Wild (b. 1666) and
Sarah Hayden (1667 - 1725). Jonathan was born in 1698, and died 1756 in Massachusetts. We have a conflict between
sources, with one saying that Jonathan marries 3844.5.2 Sarah Ludden in 1739. We don’t
know Sarah Randall’s date of death, so there is a possibility that she died in 1738, and that the last four children
listed here might go under Sarah Ludden.
Sarah and Jonathan had twelve children (first cousins to us):
1922.1.1. Sarah Wild was born 7 Jun 1720 in Braintree (Norfolk) Massachusetts.
1922.1.2. Jonathan Wild was born 1722 in Braintree (Norfolk) Massachusetts.
1922.1.3. Mercy Wild was born 1723 in Braintree (Norfolk) Massachusetts.
1922.1.4. John Wild was born 2 Oct 1725 in Braintree (Norfolk) Massachusetts.
1922.1.5. Randall Wild was born 9 May 1732 in Braintree (Norfolk) Massachusetts,
and died sometime before 1809 in Braintree. Randall married 26 Sep 1755 in Braintree, Jerusha Thayer, daughter
of Richard Thayer (1685 MA - <1774 MA) and Sarah Ford (1692 MA - 1742 MA). Jerusha was born 18 Jan 1737 in
Braintree (Norfolk) Massachusetts, and died 31 May 1809 in Braintree.
Randall and Jerusha had seven children (second cousins to us):
1922.1.5.1. Asa Wild was born 25 Feb 1757 in Braintree (Norfolk) Massachusetts. He married Anna Wales.
1922.1.5.2. Levi Wild was born 23 Aug 1758 in Braintree (Norfolk) Massachusetts. He married Rhoda Capen (Capon?).
1922.1.5.3. Randall Wild was born 14 Jun 1760 in Braintree (Norfolk) Massachusetts, and died 18 Jan 1852 in West Fairlee (Orange) Vermont. He married 14 Jan 1785 in Braintree, Sarah Hunt, daughter of Silas Hunt (1741 MA - 1767 MA) and Silence Thayer (b. 1745 MA). Sarah was born 9 Jan 1766 in Braintree (Norfolk) Massachusetts, and died 19 Apr 1838 in West Fairlee (Orange) Vermont.
1922.1.5.4. Esther Wild was born 5 Sep 1762 in Braintree (Norfolk) Massachusetts. She married Isaac Horton.
1922.1.5.5. Elisha Wild was born 4 Apr 1764 in Braintree (Norfolk) Massachusetts, and died 10 Dec 1829 in West Fairlee (Orange) Vermont. He married 25 Oct 1788 in Braintree, Abigail Faxon. Abigail was born in 1767, and died in 1840.
1922.1.5.6. Richard Wild was born 4 Sep 1765 in Braintree (Norfolk) Massachusetts.
1922.1.5.7. Sarah Wild was born 26 Apr 1772 in Braintree (Norfolk) Massachusetts. She married Nehemiah Holbrook.
1922.1.6. Susanna Wild was born 9 Dec 1733 in Braintree (Norfolk) Massachusetts, and died
17 Dec 1800 in Weymouth (Norfolk) Massachusetts. Susannah married 1 Jan 1752 in Braintree, Richard
Thayer, son of John Thayer (1688 MA - ) and Rebecca French (1695 MA - ). Richard was born 26 Jan 1726/27 in
Braintree (Norfolk) Massachusetts, and died 21 Sep 1800 in Weymouth (Norfolk) Massachusetts.
Richard supposedly served in the Revolutionary War, but I haven’t seen any solid evidence for this. There were at least 11 Richard
Thayers in the war, so it would be easy to make an assumption here. The only reason I question this is that he would be over 50 years
old at the time.
Susannah and Richard had one child that we know of, there were probably others (second cousin to us):
1922.1.6.1. Rebecca Thayer was born 1 Apr 1761 in Braintree (Norfolk) Massachusetts, and died sometime before 1793 in Weymouth.
1922.1.7. Silas Wild was born 8 Mar 1736/37 in Braintree (Norfolk) Massachusetts.
1922.1.8. Hannah Wild was born 20 May 1738 in Braintree (Norfolk) Massachusetts.
1922.1.9. Benjamin Wild was born 6 Jan 1739/40 in Braintree (Norfolk) Massachusetts.
1922.1.10. Elisha Wild was born 16 Oct 1743 in Braintree (Norfolk) Massachusetts.
1922.1.11. Lemuel Wild was born 28 Dec 1745 in Braintree (Norfolk) Massachusetts.
1922.1.12. Asa Wild was born 3 Mar 1748/49 in Braintree (Norfolk) Massachusetts.
1922.7. Thankful Randall was born 6 Dec 1711 in Weymouth (Norfolk)
Massachusetts. She married 9 Mar 1731, John Bates.
Thankful and John had two children (first cousins to us):
1922.7.1. Rhoda Bates was born 2 Jul 1733 in Weymouth (Norfolk) Massachusetts, and died 15 May 1790 in Weymouth. She married in 1753 in Weymouth, her second cousin Nicholas Phillips [3844.1.4.1], son of Nicholas Phillips and Judith Savill.
1922.7.2. Elnathan Bates was born 23 Apr 1736 in Weymouth (Norfolk) Massachusetts, and died 27 Feb 1820. He married Ruth Hunt, daughter of Samuel Hunt and Experience Paine. Ruth was born 8 Aug 1741, and died 28 Oct 1824.
