David was an ironsmith. Hannah died from giving birth to their last child, and David later married Mehitabel ___. Mehitabel was born in 1687, and died 1774 in Massachusetts. There were no children from this second marriage.

He was the minister for Second Baptist Church in Richmond, New Hampshire. They moved to Rockingham, Vermont about 1790, and there he conducted meetings in the old Rockingham Meeting House. He also operated a grist mill during the week. His gravestone says he was found dead under his grist mill wheel.
